Steel City will be hosting a Charity Range/Practice day on Saturday, November 9th. Some of you are registered to participate in the Steel City Precision Rifle Challenge the next Saturday. This will be an excellent opportunity to verify your dope and practice on long range targets. You do not need to be registered in the match to participate in the range day.
Steel targets will be set up from 100 to 725 yards as well as paper targets at 100yds to verify zero. NO STEEL CORE AMMO ALLOWED! In order to participate, you will need either a bolt action or semi-automatic rifle with ammo in a caliber from 223 to 300 Win Mag. The rifle must be equipped with a scope that has external adjustments for dialing elevation and windage. If you've never shot at long range, there will be ballistic data available and people to spot and coach you onto the targets. Please make sure your rifle is zero'd at 100yds.
The range fee is $50 and all proceeds will be donated to Toys for Tots. The range fee includes refreshments in the morning and lunch (menu TBD). The range will open at 9:00am and be opened for shooting until around 2:00pm. If you'd like to attend, please let me know via PM or e-mail. I'll need your name, e-mail address and telephone number. You don't need to pre-pay, I just need an idea of how many people to expect.
