My first exposure to Ken Block was Gymkhana 5. I knew nothing of the guy and spent most of the video trying to figure out how they made the CGI look so real. Because I figured it just had to be CGI.

Where that is impressive compared to production cars (Block’s car is nothing of the sort), in the performance/race world that is not uncommon at all. That car has AWD for starters, fat slicks at all 4 corners and very, very low gearing. If I remember correctly those cars top out at “only” 130mph or so.
In comparison there are legions of hot rodded street cars out there that will do the same thing with only 2WD and 10.5” wide tires. 650hp and traction will do amazing things!
