I just picked up a mini griptillian from bass pro. I have not sent in the warranty card yet because the knife is a little less than 3 days old. I cut a piece of rope with it today and noticed the blade had developed chips in it like it was a bad heat treat. Does anyone have experience with benchmade customer service?

If bass pro is local, i would start there. Otherwise, Benchmade is a damned good company.

I love my benchy auto opener, but damn if you search around the internet, people love shitting on them. They must have stepped on someone's balls.

Spring in my 10 or so year old auto broke. Cost me shipping to have it repaired.

Name a brand and I'll find someone on the internet bitchin' about it. More often than not the hate is, "I don't have one so it must suck."

True true. I actually had the same problem you had. I found a company (wish I could remember the name) they made after market Springs and had them in varoius tensions. I ended up sticking with the highest tension one and the damn thing slams open quick now. Faster than my microtech otf.

thats what i figured but BPS said because it was a wearable part, or a part not meant to last a lifetime or wears during normal use, that it was out of their hands
