Can't tell, but if it's a Lee die, google "remove stuck case from Lee die" for a video. Or plug in the manufacturer of your die - you may be surprised.

There are several dies that can be forced to give up the case without a special tool; other dies may work best with one or another type of removal tool.

I drilled and tapped with, IIRC, a number seven drill bit and a 1/4-20 tap, then I used a nut large enough to go over the case head (7/8??)

Anyway all I did then was drill/tap, place the nut on the die then a 1/4" fender washer, screw in 1/4" bolt and remove stuck case.

Same thing as the RCBS setup just I had all the stuff on-hand so saved $$.

A fellow should have a good tap set and drill indexes of all sizes up to 1/2" anyway. Good excuse to add to your tool kit.

If I can improvise and do it, anyone can do it, trust me!

Used the "diy" method

Hey guys

All done. Fairly easy but I destroyed the expander!!
At least I did not damage the die.

Thanks

When I was using 1 Shot lube, I learned very quickly to always have a puller on hand. And many dies will not allow you to remove the decapper assembly from the top, so all you can do is back it off as far as possible to prevent damage while drilling/tapping/pulling. I now keep a spare decapper assembly as well. Glad you got that one out, and if you're using 1 Shot be dam sure to let it dry before sizing-or do like I did and use something else....

ETA: I see after looking at it again that it is a Lee die. If that decapper has a replaceable decapping pin, you can probably rescue the one in the pic by just grinding the mushroom head off the end.

I wish!!
The decaping pin was ground off so we could drill into the case but thanks.
New one on the way from Midwayusa!!

When you get one that's kinda stubborn, pull it back out and re-lube--at least that's what SHE said. Hopefully you can catch it before it gets stuck. I mostly use Imperial sizing wax nowdays.
