So I recently coated a rifle and parts with some H-Series Cerakote. It was my 1st time and there are a few very small spots where I did not see that didn't get quite enough coating. So I have some C-Series in the exact same color. Can I degrease and just lightly coat these pieces? It will be on very lightly used things such as thread protector and the set of ring. Would appreciate any help! Thanks

On such small parts Ben I would just shoot them again. I dont know how C series looks compared to H series sheen wise.

That's the thing....since it was my 1st time to ever do this I had a massive brain fart and mixed about double the amount that I would need and now I don't have any H series left. I'd prefer not to spend another $40 for just a couple little spots. I may spray a little C series on something else and see how well the two match, I am mainly worried about if it will stick to the H series or not.

WOW you mixed up the whole 4oz to paint a rifle?!!!??!?!?!? Thats WAY WAY WAY WAY more than "double the amount you needed" You must not of read any of the instructions or the Cerakote training book that comes with about every order. They clearly tell you how much to mix up to paint a rifle. WOW is all i can say

I had more than just a barreled action to do so I wasn't sure how much to use! Plus it was my first time and as usual I got in a rush! Don't bust my balls over that please.

Ben

There will be a sheen difference between the C and H but the colors should match. You could shoot it all with the clear coat and that would even it out.

Ok, thank you, I may end up just re-blasting and using the C-Series on those parts..

And no it's still cheaper for me to do it plus I want to do it to more rifles in the future. Right now my cost into this is about $50 and a bit of time. Used the blaster at work and was given a spray gun. Gotta learn somewhere. Don't see why so many members here down other people trying to figure new stuff out, yes I measure incorrectly not knowing how much I might need. Still looks really great even with the few small blemishes.

Ben, why not try the C-series first and see for yourself how it looks. I coat guns almost every day with H-series and have done touch ups that turn out fine! Not to say you can respray a hole part but if it's light enough you can see some metal try touching it up. If you are working on your own guns why not give it a try. Good luck!

They have uncontaminated 100-120 grit aluminum oxide where you work? Do you work in a Cerakote shop? I'm not down on learning new stuff. Your best source on tech questions like this would be to call Nic directly. They are very helpful and if they give you bad advice they will send you replacement product to make it right. If we give you a bum steer you might end up with a pile of junk.

You act like spraying a little paint is fuckin rocket science. To the op, try some norrells molly, its easier to spray and if your not dragging your gun down a gravel road, you can't tell a difference in durability.

We have some of that in the shop, may try some of that or KG Gun Kote for next projects. Just to compare myself! Thank you guys for the help!

I have taken a part that was cerakoted and scuffed it up with a 3M pad and sprayed patterns on it, it has held up great.
