Ok so I have a Harrell Powder dropper and it is absoloutely fantastic for everything till about H4350. Anything slower than that like H4831sc and it WILL NOT throw consistently. This is just me being lazy, but are there any powder droppers that will throw magnum powders reliably so that you don't HAVE to measure every charge? Because this Harrell will throw H4831sc +/- 1-2gr on either side of a given charge, which is wayyyy to inconsistent to even think about not weighing everything. H1000 and Retumbo are even worse..

"I have a Harrell Powder dropper ...."

"Dropper"? Harrel's measure is as good as powder measures get. No volume measure can possibly drop charges of course powers with high consistancy. If you can't do it well enough yourself, get yourself a digital dumpster measure.

I have read the JDS quick measure throws just a little better than the harrels. For long extruded powder that is...
Have also read the Lee perfect prefer measure does well with sticks.
My JDS is at the post office awaiting my retrieval.

one powder thrower may be "better" than another, but for what you want none will be good enough, at least 1 in 10 throws will be way the fuck off - if you are not willing to do what it takes with stick powder then use a suitable ball powder, they are out there in every burn rate, just not much discussed here because the general consensus is that if you are going to expend the resources to hand load but want to take significant short cuts, your results will be as successful as pissing into the wind

even with varget and the harrel if you throw and weigh a 100 charges, at least 1 will be .3 off - quite likely to cause a flyer, despite a nice wide node
