I was wondering if there is a way to make a home made zero stop for the HDMR or tactical bushnell models?? I really like these scopes but lack of zero stop holds me back. if there was a way for me to make one myself I would probably jump at them.

Interesting option, if it exists. I saw a clever idea of drilling a hole through your turret, paint a dot visible through said hole when scope is zeroed. Only useful in daylight, unless using phosphorescent paint.

Could you simply find some washers the size of the turret, paint them to match, and stack them to form a zero-stopish block so you can't dial lower. It would not have to be exact as long as it was less than one revolution. Heck, I may try to make some on the lathe once I get mine zeroed. My G2DMR should arrive on monday :)

I'm a Hide-virgin. I tried to post a link earlier but it looks like that didn't go too well. Oh well. Go onto YouTube and punch in 'Zero Stop for Bushnell Elite' and see what pops up.

I've made a similar stop out of black delrin that goes between the bottom of the elevation knob & base (for lack of a better, more descriptive term) on several of my Sightron SIII LRMOA scopes. I measured the gap between the bottom of the knob & turret base with the scope set on its 100yd zero, then turned out a ring of delrin of that thickness that is a snug fit around the turret. Remove the knob screw, slip the delrin ring into place, and replace the knob - done. Only bad thing is the ring covers the turret index line, but you should be able to get the knob's zero index lined up well enough without it. Worst case scenario - you're a quarter min off, up or down.

I like the idea in the video. Will this work with the pull up/push down locking feature on the 3.5-21x DMR/HDMR scopes? Sorry but I don't have one on hand yet to tinker with.

The G2DMR came in today.
I have to say I really dig it. I can see now why the traditional/home-made zero stops won't work with the "pull up to adjust" turrets without negating the ability to lock them down in place. Either way, with the ability to lock the turrets in the down position I'm happy. I hope to be able to get a chance to zero it in the next few days and look through it side by side with some other glass.

Write down the hash mark at which the scope is zeroed.

That might be too expensive and too involved a fix, but if you can accomplish it you will only be held back in the dark when your flashlight batteries fail.
