I've been wanting to get a 308 for a while now, i was looking at a stiller tac 30 action and i had a few questions, i know there probabley stupid and obvious questions but i want to be sure before i spend close to 1000 dollars! 1. What type of magazine is used with this action? I've been looking at it and i cant seem to find what it uses.
2. Does it come with one or would i have to purchase it seperate?

So will the "5 and 10 Round Centerfeed mag for above" work with it also? and im assuming when it says for above it means you can only load through the top of the action, and the magazine isnt detachable?
Incorrect. The Stiller action works with detachable mags as long as you put it into a stock/chassis with DBM metal. In fact, that is what it is designed for. It's my guess that your quote is from the Stiller website and refers to the fact that the magazines they are selling are compatible with the action shown "above". I would guess that is what you are referring to...a total SWAG on my part.

the tac 30 is not set up for top loading as the port size is minimal - it is best used as a mag fed rifle - this will require a stock with built in magazine type bottom metal, or a separate bottom metal inletted into a stock - the action also will not include action bolts or trigger pins

- building a rifle off of a custom action is not a cheap endeavor

The standard TAC 30 will feed from anything a factory 700 will feed from. I had one built for a BDL style floor plate and mag box and another setup for AICS mags. The TAC30AW is setup to feed from double stack AI AW mags.

They also have a new action out called the specter you may want to look into if you're going to run it in a chassis.
