I had two contrasting product service experiences lately. I sent an old pair of Wind River binos in or replacement eye cups that were fallen off. They decided to replace them with a pair of Cascades. No consultation. Said they no longer make/use anything bit twist ups now. A little disappointing for the former customer service/warranty standard bearers.
On the other hand I have a 3-18x42 IOR that I have used the shit out of for around 3-4 years. Last Dec. It fogged while moving from a warm house go the 15-20 deg snowy coyote fields. Sent it go VAL at IOR and when it arrived it was not fogged. Puzzled but I accepted it back and used it the rest of the year until elk season this year. It fogged again and was sent back again. Again it was clear upon arrival. VAL called and discussed the options. He was very straight forward and soon sent a new replacement scope based on believeing his customer'stestemony. A clear contrast, very similar to IOR scopes. Thanks VAL.

So you're just upset that Leupold didn't call you about it if I understand correctly? I could understand that but seems like it turned out to your benefit and they did make good on their warranty. Just hope you weren't sentimentally attached to the old binos.

The difference between IOR and Leupold experiences probably has a lot to do with how busy the two companies are. Leupold has less time than Val I would imagine.

Sounds to me like both companies made you right.
Would you rather of had your old bino's back without eyecups?

The parts I have a problem with is the Wind River's cost 350.00 20 years ago and the substitute Cascades go for around
250.00-270.00 and they are a lot less user friendly, short depth of field, not nearly as quick to focus and the twist cups do not close out the light at the eye cups as well. They are not equal.
The IOR was an equal to the scope I had purchased.
