What's the best way to do it?
Do I have to cut the old chamber off, start fresh and loose barrel length. Or can I just run the .30-06ai reamer into the existing .308 chamber?

If so what is the best way to hold the reamer so that it does not wander off line before the pilot enters the bore.

Thanks.

You will have to cut a minimum of about 3/8" off of the old chamber.

The pilot of the 06 reamer will be in the bore before it starts to cut anything.

Ignore everything I just said. I failed to see the AI part. I don't have an AI reamer print to look at so I know nothing.
