Have been shooting with 6-24x50 Sightron SIIIs & Vortex PSTs. Both scopes had excellent tracking, usable reticles, and good enough optical quality for the shooting I've been doing, which is mainly steel out to 1400yds.
However, these were all SFP scopes, and that was messing with me while shooting movers. So we're now in the off season, and I decided to buy a FFP scope, preferably with a zero stop, since I'd managed to lose track of elevation a couple of times while shooting with the SIII on my 284. Zeroing a stage due to this particular brain fart isn't on my list of 'fun' things to do at a match, so I machined out some black delrin zero stops for my SIIIs, but that still left me with the issue of figuring changes of reticle hashmarks with magnification changes.
I had a budget of $1700, and in researching scope threads here, the Bushnell ERS 3.5-21x50 looked like the most bang for the buck, so that's what I bought. I put it on my M700 260 Imp 30*, and it finally warmed up enough to get out and get some trigger time with it. Very pleased with the results, though seeing all the photos & specs of the 4.5-27x56 Gen II Vortex Razor is making me wonder how long it'll be before they're available - I really like the proportions of these new Gen II scopes, and am very curious as to how much better quality glass they may have over my new Bushy.
ETA - Not sure how necessary a zero stop is with the 10 mil turrets of the ERS, but it's there, and if nothing else, it'll provide peace of mind, and one less chance to totally screw a match up.
