I finally got my LR blaster built, coated, and the stock dipped, about 2 days before I headed out on my South Dakota WR deer hunt. Of course, I had to get her submitted to the folks at Cerakote for their weekly contest and sure enough...it scored the weekly winner.

    Specs as follows.

    7mm Rem Mag Match
Win M70 Mag CRF Classic Action blueprinted and bolt helical fluted.
The tactical bolt knob is also bored and has a primed Rem Mag case set inside.
Manners T5A Hydrodipped in Kryptek "Highlander" with Tubbs 6 Position butt plate and Badger front accessory rail.
Timney Nickel trigger set to 1.6lbs tucked safely behind CDI Bottom Metal and AI Mags
Rock Creek 8 twist barrel cut to 25", with 5 flutes, threaded 5/8x24 and currently hosting a Thunderbeast 30BA
Badger 20 MOA rail and 20 MOA AAD Mount with Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56 NP1RR (leaves me 88 usable minutes to dial)
Barreled action and other metal parts done in Smiths Brown, bolt and suppressor done in Federal Standard Field Drab

Complete build done by Travis at TS Customs
    Hydrodip by Derek at Exo-Kote
All photos are too big to post here, but the links should be visible so I don't have to choke the bandwidth.

    looks sweet.

One question: Why the 20moa rail with the 20moa mount? No kill like overkill? But I suppose if you are launching the 180gr VLD's or something you could probably get them out there far enough to where you could use most of that, maybe?

The honest reason is because this optic runs on my 300 SAUM AR10 as well as my 243WSSM AR15...so the 20 MOA AADMOUNT is a perfect choice.
I don't yet have my new Bushnell XRS H59 for this rifle yet, so while I was working up load data this summer/fall, I just used what I had handy.

It makes almost all the MOA usable and by my calculations, with my 180 VLD loads and atmospheric conditions...it takes about 72 MOA to hit 2000 yds (depending on the day). Pretty nice to have 80+ usable.

I won't use this set up with my new optic, but something similar makes it very tempting.

Saw it on facebook a while back. I was wondering weather it was you or Skinney who had that rifle. Love Kryptek's camo wanting get my main rifle finished in it.

C_bass how does the hydro dip hold up? I've seen some cerakote kryptek patterns and was unsure of which to go with.

I've only had it done for a few weeks now but I'll know more next season after it has a full year to get handled.
It's got 2 coats of clear over the top so i'm not worried at all about the finish getting beat up, but time will tell.

I've got my 10/22 done in Nomad as well, I like that a lot, but there is just something about throwing in the subtle greens and browns that makes the Highlander a very effective camo pattern.

That was incredibly helpful. Glad I asked.

The information ON THE PHOTO and description of the photo that I gave in the thread has every detail I could think of. Do you think the color is something I would forget?

If we are all friends here, wouldn't it seem better to say " thanks for saying nice rifle, if you missed the color in the description, it's because it was listed several lines down from the stock colors that were listed, it's smiths brown".

I too would like to say "wow, nice rifle man", but I'm kind of afraid to be made to feel like I'm annoying you. Post up some sweet sub .5 moa targets and I will be even more impressed, and high five you, and agree that it was over $6k of money well spent. Anyway, Nice paint, it turned out very cool looking.

Thats not annoying, because you clearly took the time to look at the photo and read the post. That's called being an engaged viewer. You're probably the kind of person that does a few searches before asking a question...which is good. And thank you.

To my great surprise, the 180s print the same group size in the same spot, but faster.
Sweet spot with 168s is at 3030fps.
Sweet spot with 180s is actually at 3105.

As soon as I can control my bipod a little better, I'll be set.

($6k might be close to the value, but not to what I spent)

Damn, it shoots as nice as it looks. Nice job. Looks like you've got her dialed in.
