I'm kind of new to this hunted for years but never built a gun. Starting off with remington 700 I ordered a bobby hart acu block long range stock for it. Everything sets perfect in this stock until I tighten down the set screws. Once tightened the barrel shifts to right side if stock? I've been told by a couple people to bed the stock I'm just wondering if I should send it back and try another stock or go ahead and bed it?

No matter what stock you get, it will have to be bedded.

I respectfully disagree. Never had my HS Precisions bedded to my Police and 5R 700 actions and they will shoot 3/4 to 1/2 moa out to 1200 yards. Both .300 win mags. In this case, I'd check your inlet for your recoil lug. May be dugout deeper on one side.

Just because the barrel shifts in the stock doesn't mean that it won't shoot. However, if you bed it, you can eliminate the shift, and it may shoot a bit better. I would bed it if you can.

Here's that +1 I always wanted to do. My Rem SPSS 308 and my 6MMREM were the same way, shot near 1/2moa out to 600yds, neither were bedded, nice rounded groups, just torque to 45 in lbs, yur all set. Not sure how this new stock works, if it has a bedding block Id try to see why it's shifting once you start torquing it. Googling it now.

Here it is! I would not bed this stock, shoot it first then if you're getting weird groups, then I might consider it.

That is the exact same stock I have when I lay my barrel down in this stock it will rock back and forth do you all think the recoil lug gap isn't down far enough? Thanks for all the tips

It shouldn't have much fore and aft movement, not even sure how much my H-S move, just pull the barrel back and torque to 45in lbs. Otherwise, when in doubt, call the manufacture, that's what I'd do.
