Thinking on one of these and was curious as to actual users and their thoughts on it. Use would be for hunting on a Ruger GSR. Shots range from quick less than 50 yards to 300. I have a Leupold VX6 non illumination on another rifle and like it, looking maybe for a compare.

Think it would be a good balance in optics. Hoping others may have this and advise. Also read the review I believe and the mid range powers are not clear?

If anyone else has one, any feedback please?

Or if you have any other ideas on a scope in this class.

I have a swfa 1x6 on a lmt 308 and I love the setup. First time I took it out I was hitting a 10" gong at 300 yrs till it almost got boring. The glass is real clear and with the first focal point the magnification seems more that 6 power. As for the lighted recital, I haven't needed it yet, but it would be helpful if i hunted with this rifle.
I would have no problem recommending this scope to anyone.
I hope this help,
Jeff

Thanks! The main concern for the reticle is the 1X, although not an Aimpoint, it wil be great at close distances. Hopefully someone can chime in, maybe even SWFA themselves?

I wanna say JonA? did a review on the daytime brightness and other features quite sometime ago.

I was hoping to see if other GSR users had similar setups, even if not the SWFA 1-6.

I have one of the SWFA 1-6x24 scopes on one of my AR's. It seems to be a good scope for the money. I've had it for a few months with about 800 rounds fired including a skill builder class down at Front Sight. Here's my non-expert observations: Illumination is NOT daylight bright. In fact, it's barely visible on a dark overcast day.
The reticle is good. I like it at 1x & 6x. It gets pretty busy in between. I find it fairly fast at 1x, but not as fast as an ACOG, and definitely slower than an RDS.
A switchview lever would be nice as the power ring adjustment is tight. Glass is clear and bright at all magnification levels. Turret adjustments are fine, not sure I would feel the clicks with a glove on, but I don't dial this scope anyway. It's zero'd at 100 meters & I use holdovers for wind & distance. No problem banging steel at 400.
Eye relief is very good. Eyebox is good & fairly forgiving. A little heavy, but not as heavy as the Razor.

I don't think I'd pay $999, but $750-850 for a used one would be a good value. Or, wait for SWFA to run a special again. I think they were $799 on Black Friday.

I had a buddy of mine buy one of these on the Cyber monday deal 799.00. We just mounted it the other day, super easy with the Bobro mount, highly recommended. Scope itself is quality through and through. Glass is excellent in my opinion and my scope is an S&B pm11, so thats what I'm used too. We both commented that the glass seemed alot clearer than his vortex viper pst. I really like this reticle it's awesome on 1x for CQB especially indoors where the reticle glows bright red. I took the scope outside and it is not daylight bright, but that did not bother me because you still have the black circle with the cross in the middle for super fast engagements. He also ordered the switch lever with his and I really like how fast you can go from 1-6x. We will be shooting with it this weekend, so I will report back. Overall I really like it. I'm seriously thinking about taking my Aimpoint T-1 off my Kac Mod1 and running this SWFA.

I'd be curious to know what you think of this set up. I have mine mounted on my SR15 and it seems to throw the balance off a bit.

I definitely agree with you that the glass is better than the Vortex PST's.

I had a PST and always thought the lens' were dirty.

Was going to go with an swfa 1-6x. Loved the idea, reticle is annoying other than at 1x or 6x.
Ended up going with a NF 2.5-10x32 mil/mil and couldn't be happier. At 2.5x I can still use it with both eyes open.
I'm much faster than I thought I'd be. Glass is on par with Elcan, built like a tank, good from 25-800 comfortably.
Zero stop works well, positive dials and built in throw lever is perfect.
