Does anyone have a reliable source for 22 LR ammo. I went in to buy some .22 for the Browning 1911 22 that I just bought for my son for Christmas and they handed me a 50 round box of Eley for $25. I asked if it was mis-marked and the guy just laughed. I bought the Eley to have something but not having any luck locally finding anything else. Have looked at a few of the threads here but not really sure what or where I should get ammo. Was considering getting him a 22 rifle for his birthday in February but may just stick to hand loading 223 and 243 unless I can find a decent 22 source and type. Not looking for match grade just want some good 8 year old's plinking ammo. Any help would be appreciated...

Do a web search for Armscor 22lr standard velocity that allows back ordering.
Several of the better on line dealers are offering a case for about $225 plus
about a $7 shipping charge. I had to wait a month, but it did get shipped and
it did arrive. Quality is about the same as my 2012 order of CCI SV, might be a bit dirtier
but for my cheap semi-auto's and factory barreled bolt actions I've got no complaints
considering the price works out to about a nickle a round including shipping.

Sportmans Guide just had this listed for just over $200 for a 5000 rd case free shipping aprox Dec 10th. I ordered 2 cases & a case of 22 mag.

FYI, Ammo-can.net gives Walmart Stocks by state. It's not always updated but at least shows who to call to see if shelf's are empty yet. Anyone have any other sites or engines they wouldn't mind sharing? Thanks

Bruno's Shooting Supply has some of the high end Eley In stock, but it's not $25.00 a box. I think Eley black box is at about $15.00 a box. Plus they take backorders. Their prices seem fair to me, so I just put stuff on backorder, and every once in a while I get a pleasant surprise delivery. I also look on all web sites everyday for in stock ammo, and I get lucky here and there. Bruno's had cases of SK Stanard Plus a couple months back, and I ordered one since it shoots just great in my Winchster 52C. If you're willing to hunt for it regularly, you will find more than you want. Good luck.

bullets.com has had SK Magazine in stock for a while - just under 110 for 1k rounds delivered

Ammo-can.net is working out pretty good today. Walmart prices hard to beat when you find them. I travel a lot so I selected my route based on ammo can info and it paid off today.
