nj gunsmith or in the area

Ok so Im looking for a gun smith in the NJ area that has experience with bolt rifles. I have a decent gun smith for pistols near me but he doesnt really do work with bolt rifles other then just mount scopes. I need to make sure my headspacing was done correctly when i installed the new barrel and i would like the action to be trued. I dont mind travelling a little while just dont want to have to take a plane ride to meet a decent smith. The problem in NJ is , since you cannot rifle hunt, so there is no need for rifle smiths really, but i own property in PA where we have quite the amount of acres to shoot. Im trying to have this done before spring season, and then have my .270 done after this .300wm is done. Any ideas of east coast PA or close NY or deleware or maryland appreciated

Do some reading here and you'll quickly see which builders have reputations for quality work, location isn't much of a concern IMO, UPS will provide!

There is only one bolt gun smith who I would recommend in NJ...and he is about as good as they come. Bob White in Lake Hopatcong. Google "shooters corner".

Never heard of him but after checking out his website, it appears to be a great place to check out.

I see this is the second time you have recommended Bob.. Just out of curiosity, what smith work has he done for you?

I cosign that.. A friend of mine purchased a rifle off his list that was supposed to be a "no turn neck" 6.5x47L chamber.. Well, it was not.. Bob reamed the chamber with a neck reamer and corrected the problem... I was rather impressed with the results after completing load development for the rifle..

BTW, the rifle is still listed on "the list" #R8 and he bought it over a year ago.... Last I checked...
