I wanted to see if anyone has tried one out? I saw one today at a gun show which has me wanting one but thought I would see what you guys thought of it. I like my EMP but want a full size 1911 in 9mm.

Not widely available. The 9mm is a new for 2014 gun that Springfield offered to dealers in an early buy package in December 2013. Look for them to be in wider circulation in a few weeks.

I have a 9mm 1911. They're never going to be 100% reliable. I wish Springfield would make the EMP in a full size; it WOULD be 100%.

The shorter action that actually fits the 9mm cartridge is an excellent fit.

Sorry can't tell you about the SRO in 9mm but I will comment on reliability in a full size 1911.

I have 2 full size 1911-9mm pistols.
One is a fusion firearms 6" longslide with 600 rounds through it w/zero malfunctions.
The other one is a Dan Wesson pointman 9 (5") with 100 rounds through it w/zero malfunctions.
I use the springfield designed metalform magazines in both as they were recommended to me by fusion when I bought that pistol.

While neither pistol has lots of rounds through them they both have performed flawlessly.

Not too worried about having it 100% reliable, it's would just be for cheaper target practice. The one I saw at the gun show was around $820 so it looks to be priced about the same as the .45 range officer.

You will love it. They're a joy to shoot, they just can be finicky. Use round bullets and load long.

I have probably shot 6-7k rounds through mine in the last few years, including 2k in a single week once.

With the right ammo, it will run, but it's hard to say 100% when one realizes that the action is .100" too long.
