F T/R Competition Sierra 2156 and 8208 load

What are y'all seeing the best results with this bullet and powder? I know it isn't Varget but it is all I could find(well I found CFE223 also).

Been looking around on the threads and majority of info I can find is with Varget or Berger 155 bullets

Going to make a 600/1000 yard load for FTR.

I'm currently using 45 grains. .035 off the lands. 2995 fps. 1:12 twist barrel. You probably want to start a little lower and experiment with seating as this what I found works for me. YMMV

My advice
If using Bergers in 155 class go with 155.5s. Easy to make shoot and great bullet. US Team shot them in 2009 Worlds and we did real well with them.

If using 8208 powder. Clean often it causes far more fouling than Varget

initial testing to get velocity shows potential. Low ES and ladder test looked ok at 350 yards.

Am using 44.9 8208 with 2156's and F210M primers in well prepped brass. 2760fps at 80d, not real fast, but .6-.7 consistently at 100 and very reliable at 500yds.

My touch is 2.197") 2.890" COAL and puts the pressure ring just about half in the neck. Seems like this is a 95 Palma chamber or very close to it with regards of freebore. I thought the Savage FTR had an Obemeyer chamber

Going to try seating depth in 010 increments to try and identify a seating depth area that it likes best then go back and tune in 003 increments
