Rifle Scopes S&B : New 3-27x PMII -- On the site!

I get what the guy from S&b is saying... But if I am going to spend that kind of money on something I need something a little more than two years. I have been planning to get the 5-25 PII but now i dont know. If it is the best line of scopes out there then why go from 30 to 2 years. Sounds like to me like you know your scopes are not worth it and will break very soon. You can try to spin it all you want S&B guy but if you went to buy a new car at the dealership and their 100 thousand warranty is now 15 thousand miles and suprise.. Cost about twice the amount of the other car guys in your Class who still have the 100 thousand mile warranty by the way, you would think very hard on it i bet. Like "why is this more but offers less warranty" Darn what scope do I buy now if it is not going to be a S&B PII? Someone help me because I am still a newb.

Many other good options in recent years. I have never had an issue with March, Vortex Razor, Nightforce or SWFA! Do some research and I'm sure you'll fine something else. S&B and USO are great, but never wanted to wait months to get one. Waiting for my new BEAST now, which has been a PIA!

Daltexmex,

I hear what you are saying. The important thing to realize that even though the company might print out a 2 year warranty, I am sure they will go beyond that. Besides, my scope did not break, even after abuse. I broke it and they fixed for free (plus cost of parts)

So here is some information regarding the BEAST that you requested: http://www.snipershide.com/shooting...ay-delivery-yes-please-beast-has-arrived.html

Get the scope that fits what you want. If you are concerned about glass quality, that is subjective. But if you want, here is a link to Optics Testing from FinnAccuracy: http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/snipers-hide-rifle-scopes/215325-finnaccuracy-optics-test.html . Maybe in the near future we will start seeing comparison tests between the scopes and find out a little more about glass quality. Do not forget about the ease of use and tracking capabilities. These are important when considering a scope as a whole.

Good luck and let us know what you eventually decide to get.

You guys crack me up sometimes... You act like if a scope breaks, it is junk and have to throw it away. I am just as leary of a company when they put long warranties on an item. The powertrain warranty on a Hyandai is longer than a Bentley but that certainly doesn't make it better.

Jesus. So I'll ask the supporters of this scope this now.....is this worth almost TWICE the price of a S&B 5-25?

I don't understand how a scope like this can cost $6,000. Is it made out of Martian precious metals? Or is it an arbitrary price to see how much people are willing to pay? Why does this scope cost twice as much as the 3-20?

There is no way there is that much of difference between the 5-25x56 model. I understand the glass is supposed to be a good bit better but at this point my current pmii is about as clear as my eyes can focus on. Needles to say I will not be in line for the 3-27 model.

I'm tired of waiting for the BEAST so i want to buy one of this in a H59 reticle , do you know who else besides europtic has them in stock? what do you think it would be best for a DTA SRS in .308, .300WM and .338LM?

Thanks

The beast would at best measures to the 5-25x56 pmii in my opinion which can easily be found at half the price.

So let me get this straight....your tired of waiting for the Beast....so you want to spend well over double the money for a Bender :/

Just curious......did you get in line at one of the dealers? If not you won't be seeing one for quite awhile even after they are released.

Yes, i already pay in full for the BEAST since June , i'm just got tired of waiting for it...... What do you think of the combination of a DTA SRS with a 3x27 pmii?

Who in hell made you pay in full for a BEAST since june? I'll make sure to avoid them like the plague. As for the DTA + 3x27 I think your pissing away money to be honest........If your not going to wait for the BEAST....then just get the 5-25. There is nothing I've seen about the 3-27 that makes it worth twice as much as the 5-25.....nothing. 2 extra power on either side is not magically going to make you a better shooter or make your odds of hitting a target that much greater.

Thanks a lot for the answers i will keep them in mind....

so any dealer beside europtic?

Man that sucks if EuroOptic made you pay in full for a "non timelined optic". I much prefer MileHigh at this point, I'm number 1 on the list and didn't put down 1 cent for it. I'd also look at Sport Optics.......but either way your in for a long wait if you jump off Euro's list at this point.

I didn't say that Eurooptic made me pay for anything , i'm not on their list for the BEAST, and they are very very nice people to deal with....... i only ask who besides because i call this morning to them and they don't have it in stock, if they would have it i would buy it from them with my eyes closed.

No one has it in stock. Sounds like maybe end of the month or feb now for them to be released. But its HIGHLY doubtful your just gonna be able to swoop in and get one.

I have seen 2 of them, they are shipping just not over the counter just yet. Who knows if this will even be the final version, they fiddled with the locking knobs a bit.

The SB 3-27 is a BAAD mofo, crazy price. If money is no object...

Oh, and for what it's worth on the warranty issue - I see everyone (incl Jerry) states that the hunting line still carries a 30 year warranty - NOT CORRECT. The hunting line warranty has also been reduced - it's now 10 years and no longer 30 years. :)

And another change - if the warranty repair is needed because of "wear and tear", then it will only be done under warranty for the first 2 years - from the start of the 3rd year after purchase, the warranty will not be honoured for anything "wear and tear" related.... That kind of SUCKS!!!

Here it is off S&B's website:
