Atlas 5-H Bipod info thread.

Re: Atlas V9/V10 info thread.

Gee, I could have had a V8.1! Why didn't I wait? My V8s are no good to me now. Who wants them before I throw them out? (JK)

Re: Atlas V9/V10 info thread.

azimutha LOL!!!!

You will not find a "V 8.1" on our website, just old V8's!!!!

However - we now have the new numbers for the V10 Atlas, it is;

Part # BT35 - ATLAS 5-H BIPOD - V10 -Heavy Duty 1913 Rail mount

Crazy right?

Re: Atlas V9/V10 info thread.

Info from Kasey on 10-13-2011:

Part # BT35 - ATLAS 5-H BIPOD - V10 -Heavy Duty 1913 Rail mount

We will be giving all the details and pricing ASAP and not before. Until then, this is what I can say;

1. The Atlas 5-H borrows the Patented and Patent pending features found on the Atlas V8.

2. It will be geared towards the larger .338 and up calibers.

3. It will be heavier than the Atlas V8, but want to keep it's fighting weight at 16 ounces.

4. It will have a taller and wider stance

5. It will have 1-3 new and novel features that the big bore guys we have spoken to have deemed a requirement.

6. It is a 1913 rail mount bipod

Timeline - I really fail big at this and will not do so again, well at least not on this subject matter so please do not ask. What I will promise is if interested we will have a contact list that we will use. If you are on this list then you will be given first chance to pre-order one once the details are made public.

Re: Atlas V9/V10 info thread.

Not sure if this has been covered or not, but thought I'd pass it along. I just noticed last night that my Atlas bipod with ADM mount will fit perfectly in a standard double-AR mag pouch... not really earth-shattering news or anything but it might help someone out if you like stowing your bipod from time-to-time.

Re: Atlas V9/V10 info thread.

Kasey, Will we be able to mount the V10 to the AFAR? Just wanted to know b/c I was getting ready to buy the AFAR Kit but wanted to make sure I would be able to mount the V10 to it. Do you think the V10 will be out in 3 months or so?

Re: Atlas V9/V10 info thread.

whit, thanks for your interest in the V10 (ATLAS 5-H, our part # BT35). But I really can't answer that, not for some secret squirrel thing, but because of the Atlas 5-H configuration. Sorry.

And negative on the time-line.

Re: Atlas V9/V10 info thread.

How will the BT-10-LW-17 with stand the recoil of the 338 Lapua?

Re: Atlas V9/V10 info thread.

now I'm all embarrassed.

Again, lower your expectations and get use to disappointment....

Re: Atlas V9/V10 info thread.

Here is ONE of the projects I was talking about when the V9 came up.

All Stainless Steel and White Quarter-sawn Oak, with 5 spoke elevation adjustment wheel, and bar nuts. Barrel weighs 17#, total weight is 22.8 pounds, bore is "Golfball"
smile.gif

TEST FIRE is longer than needed...the yellow "tracking" ribbon was cut in half by the attachment wire....distance the ball traveled; far.

Sorry.

The other I'm saving for SHOT, it's even more disappointing...

Re: Atlas V9/V10 info thread.

That is COOL! You gotta love your job, Kasey! You think that device would be legal from the black tees on a 567 yd par 5?

Re: Atlas V9/V10 info thread.

Put me down for a V9 unless you have contracts for those too. I am merely a civillian and not a very good one either.

Re: Atlas V9/V10 info thread.

gstaylorg, thanks, I do love my job! And yes it should be legal at night with glow balls...

mnshortdraw, LOL, no contract, in fact we refuse to take a contract for them! LOL If you are serious about buying one, thank you, first run is 25, we have 6 claimed. Cost is 895.00, offering at SHOT for 850.00 delivered by July 2012.

redirt78, lol, I'm sure, but all that is spoken for.

Re: Atlas V9/V10 info thread.

Is that solid billet steel construction?

I got a Brass one like that, your FAR range is an underestimate. Remove the trailer and then launch another.

Re: Atlas V9/V10 info thread.

Yes it all stampings and turnings, nothing cast.

We did!

I'll use a little shock cord as the "go between" between the ball and the ribbon next trip...

Interesting.... So much fun could be had with one of these and a few golf balls out a 2nd story window in a housing community....

Re: Atlas V9/V10 info thread.

Redirt78, weapons dealer for the king of Jordan gave us that moniker.

Re: Atlas V9/V10 info thread.

Man, I wish you had an "In stock" indicator on your site. I ordered an Atlas bipod while you guys were on break from another site, but I would have gone to you if I knew you had a stockpile.

Still got good service from the other vendor, but I'll check you guys out next time.

Re: Atlas V9/V10 info thread.

Autark, sorry our website is a bit dated in regards to tracking inventory. In addition, we are still not caught up enough to start civilian sales back up. So I'm glad you found what you were looking for.

May have spotted something!! Here's a link to LoneWolfs shot coverage. @ 3:34 is that a Atlas V10?? </div></div>

Well, I have to agree with you... it looks like an ATLAS bipod, but a new model.

This may be the bipod for larger calibers and it seems that it has a cant lock in it, besides those wide legs.

I don't think that's an atlas. I believe it's one of the LR Accuracy bipods. I could be wrong though.

Re: Atlas V9/V10 info thread.

What's the new versions? I just hit their booth at SHOT and V9 and 10 I was told were rumors.

Are these the heavy versions?

Re: Atlas V9/V10 info thread.

Lol, come on guys give me some credit!

We have had several "sightings" of a "heavy" bipod that looks like the Atlas. While I appreciate your observations, when the Atlas 5-H is ready, we'll share the love here first, the way it should be.

So Kasey is there any chance of getting in on a early buy of these as maybe a test group

If so throw me a PM!!!

Re: Atlas V9/V10 info thread.

Thanks Stan, best play is to send us an email requesting being added to the 5H contact list.

Done.

There will be sample PSR AND 5-H bipods at SHOT booth 20135.

I saw the prototype and think I need to buy a bigger rifle!

Here is a teaser of the patent pending 5-H - no pricing, measures something like 5-11" and weighs under 30 ounces.

Thank you for your interest and patience on this and we'll be doing some tweaking and listening to some feedback at SHOT so stop by 20135 at SHOT and have a look.

Will contact you after shot.

Have a great show.

I'm sure it will work on conventional stocks.

I don't have a large rifle for it but it looks great, extra stable seeing that it drops the centerline of the bore down into the yoke of the bipod.

up top with a picture if the new 5H for those who didn't see it

Thanks guys, I appreciate your support.

Please keep in mind it is a prototype and I totally over-looked something that will be resolved, it has to do with MY arm length....but besides that, I'm pretty jazzed with functionality including the adjustable tension.

And please, if interested you can send us a email at [email protected] with 5-H in subject line and tell us to add you to the contact list. Please do not use PM here for such requests. Thank you.

Back from SHOT had lots of interest from LR shooters on the 5-H bipod, a couple in particular, known instructors both, and the only negative comment was something like; "it's about time"! So we'll get all the catch up stuff done and then bang out the changes on it and get some prototypes made. Those will be dispensed to T&E folks and I'm going to try to do a trip out west for some other bipod related business and tie in some trigger time on a 5-H.

Thanks again for the interest and yes we will be doing a SH intro offer through this post as it was the original one posted up on the 5-H (aka V10).
