Does anyone have an opinion of this rifle, Good or bad would like to learn all I can about it before I purchase it. Want it for target shooting, hunting, med to long range protection, Also have AR 15, shotgun, etc
How much room do you have from mag well to end of rail for your hand, bipod etc to go. I have a carbine length AR and had to change out for grip because that area was so small.
Seeing as this is monolithic that would be a problem, some pictures make this area look long, others it looks to be short, Thanks in Advance

I watched one get pulled out of the box, slap an optic and suppressor on it, and then it shot 3/4" groups.

Time from box to range was approximately 30 minutes.

Great rifle! Accurate as all heck, one of the most accurate ar-308 based rifle I had owned. Had plenty room on the rail for bipod and hand placement. IIRC, had about 10" of rail, someone may need to verify though.

I love mine! Has been reliable and accurate. Changed out my trigger for a geissele ssa and need to take it out again.

I had one of the first 100 released. sold it to fund another project. Accuracy, soft recoil and great fit/finish were top notch.

My gripes were Colts lack of honesty when marketing it as a "modular" rifle, that can switch between .223 and .308. The adapter
they paraded to the press and all the magazine articles was not even reality. Most Colt fanboys say it was never stated they came
with the adapter blah, blah, that's BS. Every article made you believe it did. Kind of like O'blamacare "you can keep your coverage"
is how I felt. Just an outright deception, even if I never wanted or intended to use it as a .223. They just released the adapter recently
at an additional $300+ "option", Total BS IMO and I lost a lot of respect for Colt. And I read about poor customer service from Colt for
issues with FTF, FTE, etc. were very disconcerting. The BCG (all parts) and the charging handle are proprietary, and no spare parts are available from Colt.

Since I am a spare parts freak and already owned 3 AR10's, it was the first to go when I was looking for a sacrificial lamb. But if
I was shopping for my first .308 AR platform the Colt would be one of the top contenders.

You are right Mewillis they did make it sound like part of the package. I was also looking at LMT, M&P 10 & Colt none of them offer parts per say, I think they are all to new, I heard colt stopped manufacturing the 901 did some changes and they are just now coming out with another go around. Has anybody else heard this. I called and talked to Colt this morning and that is what the lady told me. They have just started production back up. I hope it goes well

I got to test a SBR version of this before they came out and that baby was sweet. I really liked it! 7.62 on full auto in an SBR was a lot of fun. I watched it rock guys who were a lot bigger than me ?

I'm not sure about its original release but the newer ones come with the conversion. My lgs just got 3 of them in.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but in doing a search this is the only one I can find.

Does anyone know for sure if the charging handle can be swapped out? From what I can tell, it is shorter than a normal ar10 handle and longer than a ar15 handle. Can you add a tac latch?
