I am looking at several options for taking a ar 15, and running Grendel brass with 6mm 105's. On ar15performance.com they have this 20" 6mm AR-P SPR profile barrel- 4150 CMV Sale Price: $290.00 (8 twist) . I'm not sure about this product or the bolt he offers(any suggestions) I don't have any contact with him. Is this a legit place? PTG offers a reamer for 243 LBC with a .273 neck and .098 free bore. I can have a gun smith make my own barrel this way. With this reamer in 243 LBC I can use 6.5 Grendel dies and 6mm ppc dies for the neck down. I'm wondering with this reamer if I will have to trim brass(I don't want to have to trim obviously) 6mmar.com has some cool stuff, its pretty high and you cant order just barrels or pick exactly what you want, that's the negative for me, but the upper seems to be very nice The dies are custom dies and they are a total of 300 bucks. I'm wanting to build a mega sbu side charging upper if I don't go with a Whitley(6mmar.com) What bolt do you guys recommend for the Young Manufacturing side bolt carrier, with the mega upper. I assume I can run any 6.5 Grendel bolt? Correct? What is the difference in 6mmar and 243 LBC?

Does anyone have any insight in general or suggestions on the whole process? Thanks

Im running megar arms upper with young side charging bolt on my grendel. At one point i wanted to switch barrel to a 6mmar BUT whitley wouldnt sell me just the barrel without building whole upper.whitley said use grendel type s dies with the right size bushing for 6mmar..id be interested to know if 243lbc same as 6mmar i would buy one barrel:)

Yep theyre good to go. Ive had great luck with their 223 barrels on multiple builds, even shoot the cheap PMC bronze stuff sub moa. Im on the wait list for their 12.5" 6.8SPC barrel now. They've got a great rep and are quick to respond to emails as well should you have any questions. Ive bought 5 or 6 barrels from them and they've all been performers. I only buy elsewhere when I need a real light barrel for a build or theyre not in stock. Best bang for the buck out there.

Thanks. I hope to hear from him soon.

We were in Bonaire diving for a week. Hopefully I answered your email yesterday.
We have found the Redding dies may not size the shoulder dia small enough. Forster and Hornady Grendel bushing dies seem to work fine.
The chamber in the barrels I am selling was designed for Lapua brass with a .272 loaded neck dia.using the 95gr SMK loaded to 2.295" 29gr N530 will drop them into 3/8" groups pretty easy.
Any shorter bullet should be loaded to a shorter length to keep them .010 out of the lands. Seems like the 105 Amax can be loaded to 2.295 also.
If shooting off the bench the PRI 6.8 mags will hold 5 cartridges and allow loading to 2.295 or 2.3" Grab the PRI Gen 1 mags if you can find them, they do not have the waffle ribs.

I believe black hole weaponry recommends 6mm ppc dies for their 6mm LBC barrels.

i was putting a 6.8 hog gun together, ordered there complete upper.
was told about 2 months,(because they were waiting on barrels)
told H was going to FL. in 4 weeks from order date,(not that it was ARP fault that i waited late to order)
be to show what type of CS they have, got upper 2 days before hunting trip.
already had some ARP rec, loads worked up with barns 90gr ttsx,
assmy, rifle that night, sighted in at hunt camp, killed a shit load of hogs,
all that said, ARP is a damm good group of ar people, an will go out of there way to help
OP H will do you right, no worries order an be happy

OR maybe a 6mm BRX. Brass seems to cost less. Kinda wish I would of found this before I went with the Grendel.

I wish I had never got into reloading since every time I read about a 6.5G based wildcat it makes me want to try it out.
