Sako TRG M10 at SHOT 2014

More choices, just what I needed, Damm.

EDIT: My thanks to Sako for making my life a little easier. My Google fu quickly shows that this rifle is Military and LE only.

I heard the guy from EuroOptics say after they get caught up, Citizen sales should follow and EO would be in line for the first ones, so you may not be so safe from bankruptcy after all.

ETA: new vid added to OP.

Anyone know how the barrel change works? When you loosen/remove the two screws to remove the forearm, does that also release the barrel?

Really well thought out system. I wonder what the pricing will look like.

I have always been a huge fan of Sako, but I feel Sako had their chance with this rifle. AI has now beaten them to the punch if you ask me. When this M10 does finally come out, I have my doubts it will compete in price with the new AIAT. I just appreciate AI for not pulling the "LE/ Mil only" card with their new line this year. Still a cool rifle though.

When these do come out, they will SELL.

The conical edge to the barrel and conical accepter at the receiver will assure that it always returns to headspace spec.

You should look at the DTAs and NEW AI options. Slightly more pricey, but with rapid barrel caliber changes they are much more versatile and allow cheaper practice and the need for only one good scope! Seems to be the wave of the future for most rifle manufactures and has been well tested over the last several years. New barrels are about $800-1000 and your can change them yourself in minutes!

Sold my Barrett MRAD, since even though the barrel conversions are now available for them, it's still a very heavy and unwieldy platform. Had fun with it for 18 months though.

Yeah I have an SRS A1 right now but have a soft spot for the TRG platform. To me it's the most sorted out well engineered rifle you can get for the money. Granted the M10 is gonna be spency.

I'm curious on pricing as well and would like to know if they'll have 10 round mags for the SA and 300WM calibers. I can't tell round capacity in the vids but doesn't look like 10. Can anybody confirm?

I was corrected years ago when saying "Say-ko" by a fellow with a TRG22. he said he KNEW it was "Socko" because he remembered TV commercials from his youth advertising Sako rifles.

People try to correct my "Socko" pronunciation all the time.

"Say-ko" is a timepiece, folks!

The MRAD is lighter than both the Sako and AI guns. I will be adding an M10 to the safe (next to the MRAD), however. Sako knocked it out of the park with this rifle.
