Plan: building a light weight hunting rifle on an Mcs Eh1 with a medium Palma barrel channel for use as a switch barrel setup between a #3 and medium Palma barrel.

Question for those of you that have an Eh1 and other manners stocks: how is the cheek weld height using 30mm and 34mm scope main tubes on the EH1 using low rings?

How is does the palm swell compare to a t4 or a t5?

any thoughts are appreciated.

Cheek weld should not be a problem, you can always run a stock pack if you want a little more. Light weight and 34mm tube do not go together well. Keep an eye on your scope weight as they can be heavy with weights in the 30-40oz range common for that tube size. Even 30mm tube scopes can have some weight. The new Vortex scopes are 40+oz!

Thanks sonic, was planning on using the 34 mm scope for running comps, and then using the 30 mm for hunting. I appreciate the input.

Yup Manners have a good height of comb on their stocks which makes getting a good check weld behind the scope fairly easy. Should have no problem with with of those scope tube sizes even with 56mm objectives. Like mentioned a stock pack can be used to raise a little if needed. I personally use a stock pack on all my stocks more for comfort than anything. Nicer to have your face on a softer area than a hard stock.

I am thinking about getting one also and putting a #6 barrel in it.They say it will fit up to a #8,will I have to send it some where to get the channel opened up.I think they are inleted for a remington sporter. And is it worth spending the extra $120.00 to get the one with the aluminum bedding system in it?

I have one with a #5 barrel in it..lots of room to go bigger if you want to. It's wearing a Vortex HST in warne qd LOW rings on a 15MOA base with no issues at all..

Did you open it up yourself? Is your stock the one with the aluminum bedding block?

No and No. I had it inletted for my combo at Manners and it's pillar bedded with BDL bottom metal. I don't really have a need for a DBM as this is primarily a hunting gun and a magazine is just something else to lose or forget while hiking into the mountains. The inlet from Manners was PERFECT and pillar bedding with Devcon has it locked in rock solid. I would consider going to the mini chassis if you think you might swap the stock to another gun or if you must have the DBM but otherwise, pillars will do just fine.

I run a manners EH1 on my rifle. It's got a bartlein rem varmint/sendero profile barrel fluted and finished @ 22". The stock is scary light. This is my do all rifle. With a 6-24x vortex pst (23/24 oz) it weighs right in at about 9lbs. The rifle is also balanced perfectly with the weight/barrel length. Comb height is just right. My rifle is built on a stiller action w/ 20moa rail and using the vortex and seekins low rings. there is no room to go any lower. But the cheek weld is easy to obtain/maintain in all kinds of different positions, used it in a match a couple weeks ago shooting from several different positions. Palm swell is awesome on the rifle, fits the hand really well, I've got average size hands. Friend shot the rifle and he's got huge bear paw sized hands and the first thing he commented on was how well the grip felt/fit his hand. I'm considering ordering another one of these stocks as we speak.

Also, manners customer service is truly amazing. What you read here on the hide is correct, tom is great to deal with and will go above and beyond.

I have one I am going to put up for sale in long action it's brand new inleted for badger metal. I am jumping on the group buy for a folder.
