Hello,

Im new to the forum here and I need some help choosing optics for my new Savage LRP in 6.5 Creedmore. Im almost positive I want a FFP scope for the reason that the dopes stay constant at the same distance regardless of the power setting. One of my best friends was an 0321 in the Marine Corps and graduated from sniper school and swears by first focal plane scopes. However FFP scopes cost an arm and a leg and since its not a custom gun (probably only going to bed it) I'd rather not spend a lot, anywhere from 1400-1700. If it was a AI 338 Lapua I would be more than willing to spend the coin for a S&B SSDS. Let me know if there are any scopes out there that fit the description. Thanks!

Thats one of the best value scopes on the market, at any price. Very high quality for its price. Robust and Reliable. It does not have the amazing glass or super refined whiz bangs that scopes 2x and 3x its price are, but it does everything you need to to shoot long range.

Look on the classifieds for a used one. You will save a good chunk (I paid $800 and $850 for mine). Lifetime warranty.

I would also lean towards the G2 reticle. Much more versitile and higher resale should you move on to something else. In fact, I don't know anyone who uses a DMR with a MD, Just G2 and Horus.

It is also the 2nd most popular scope in the PRS (long range shooting comp) according to this Best Rifle Scope ? What The Pros Use | PrecisionRifleBlog.com

The Bushy DMR is a great scope as the others have said. They have the 10 mil turret and zero stop version out now too, which maybe some of the 'Hide vendors could get you inside your budget. Other high value competitors to it are the SWFA SS 5-20x50, IOR 3.5-18x50, and I've seen some good deals on lightly used Leupold Mk6 3-18x44's on here lately. And, I have noticed seeing some Vortex Razor HD 5-20x50's around new for around $1600ish, as they have now come out with the Gen IIs.
