Looking at getting a suppressor for ai 260 rem, what are the pros and cons beside the dollars. Input would be appreciated.

I got the TBAC 30P-1. I did so because the focus is on performance and accuracy. It may not be the quietest, but it should produce some of the tightest groups. Recoil reduction is also huge with any can. BTW people are going to tell you to go to the Suppressor forum...

Not many cons to owning a suppressor, other than the massive pain in the ass jumping thru hoops to get one. It does add some weight on your muzzle, limiting some mobility. But once you get settled in, you will not want to shoot without it ever again. I really like TB cans. I have a 22L-1 and a 223P. For 308 and 300WM however, I shoot a TacOps. I would have no objection to getting a TB 308 can.

I love my Thunder Beast cans. I have a 338BA, 30BA, 30BAS, and 30PSS. I would put the suppression of the 30BA against any other .30 Caliber suppressor of the same size.

I have a 30P-1 waiting on my stamp. Picked up an unthreaded 26" AE in 260. Since I need to get it threaded, I might get it cut down a bit too. Anyone run a similar setup? Anyone run a 26" plus can and is it too long or... Not trying to hijack the thread, but just looking for some opinions.

Pros: too many to list
Cons: process to obtain sucks ass and you WILL be purchasing more after your first

To me, it depends on what you are going to use the gun for. I have a 26" 260 that I play around with shooting steel and paper and a 20" 260 that I hunt with, both with Rem varmint contour barrels...that 6" makes a huge difference in mobility, especially when you add a 9" long can IMO. The velocity loss (or lack thereof) really surprised me when I had my 20" gun built this past summer. I am running 140 amax's at 2825fps in the 26" gun and 2775fps in the 20" gun.

I'm running a 6.5 creed with a TBAC 30P-1 and I went with a 24". I felt like that was reasonable.

Wow. That's surprising. Makes it sound like there is not reason to not chop it down a few inches. Thanks for the info.

Thanks guys, the gun will be used for longrange target and some hunting in the states where legal. Let the wait begin on my suppressor. Purchasing it from a vendor on here. Thank you for info!

As I said, I was definitely surprised. My 20" tube may be a lucky fast one, but they are both Brux 8.5 twist barrels and both guns were put together by the same smith with the same reamer.
