Unemployment and scrap aluminum can have its benefits. I recently watched lowlights review and fell in love with it so I had to make one. My materials were limited and I tried to scale it from several pictures but several angles had to be altered so it would work with my Mcree. Its still rough and only 90% finished but I can post more pics if anyone wants to see them. When the garage warms up I will cerakote it and the stock again, thinking patriot brown.

Very nice work! Rather than putting that on a Mcree though why not just build the front half and get some skins? You could make an AICS front half pretty easily though the AX front would be tough without the extrusion.

Thank you, we have like minds as I'm already working on the prints. Im really kicking myself for not taking measurements before selling my 2.0 last year. Your right about building the front half. I studied it a lot with the skins off and if I recall correctly its just a readily available square tube welded to the receiver pocket. I was previously certified in TIG for welding on aircraft and I do own a TIG welder. I guess the chassis could be made from 6061 but I was trying to keep everything 7075-t6. The wheels are turning again. I could build it off of a long action and use REM-AGE barrels to mimic the quick change barrels, 300 WM, and .260 or .308. A MEGA MKM tube would work for the front end.

Finally got the GrovTec 15 degree socket installed and a did my first attempt at applying Rit Dye to the white nylon hand grip.

More crappy pics but I mounted the wrench under the cheek piece. This wrench fits the cheek vertical and side to side adjustment bolt, length of pull bolt, mcree to butt stock adapter bolts, hinge to mcree bolts, receiver bolts, and fits into the thumb wheel holes for the butt pad adjustment. One wrench does it all.

Had to share my harris bipod mod. I added notched legs and made phoenix claw adapters. I also turned the legs 180 degrees and put controls on the operator side, its easy. I must say that I now know my bipod intimately. Notching the legs making the adapters could be done on a drill press with a little patience. I forgot to mention that I do not have a lathe and have done everything on a mill. knurling the thumb wheel was a challenge, not to mention the other parts I have to do in this fashion.

Your buttstock looks awesome! Surprised that there are so few comments. Maybe it's your fuzzy photos, haha. Looks great man!

Can't wait to see it all painted up and in stalled. Better equipment for you to make them, and I'm sure those would sell!

Just stumbled onto this thread and I know its been awhile, but is there any updates on the stock? It is looking pretty interesting from the initial post and would like to see this to the end. Keep up the good work.

Nice work! Looks like you pretty much nailed it- how do you like it?

I have shot it several times and each time I do I find another place to shave some weight off. I'm really digging it. AI did their homework when designing it, ergonomics are awesome. After shooting with a conventional stock for years it does feel different and takes a little getting use to.

Thanks for reminding me that I started this post, cerakoting is next on my list and will post some pics. I keep finding places to shave weight off the Mcree and its really looking like a franken gun.

Even better to hear that its turning into something(even if it is a franken gun), since I have a mcree I've always been interested in what folks do to improve the ergos to suit them. I'm glad your keeping at it an hope to see updates.
