Maggie’s Dining out in Enid, OK

That's hilarious. Lesson learned: don't piss off the internet :D

I expect that most of the folks in Enid are in sympathy with the owner...even if they don't make it public. The bottom line is whether or not he stays in business.

Heh, heh, heh ... you said "bottom."

There are quite a few places like his in Oklahoma. If you show up with your pants hanging around your butt and knees you will be shown the door. If you act like a prick you will be escorted out. If you are a decent person and act friendly and respectfully you will have no problems.

Been through Enid & over alot of Okieland and never seen anything but good honest folks.
Guy seems legit to me.
His house, his rules.
If ya don't like it, nobody's askin' ya to stay, and they will help ya to leave.

Basically the same as Frank's rules for this house here @ the Hide. Can't see a problem, 'cept for the hate mongering media building themselves a shitstorm to provide comprehensive coverage for ???

His house, his rules? And that might include ejecting people who show up in wheelchairs?

did ya watch the video?
Proprietor mentioned that wheel chair dude was in his establishment before, and was no longer welcomed.

Is is not possible for a wheelchair bound individual to act an asshat, and not be welcomed back?

Is it not possible that a wheelchair bound asshat could be pulling the 'handicap' card to feed that Proprietor a bag of shit for kickin' him out?

Just sayin' that things ain't always as the media paints them to be.
Also, I respect a person's right to run his place as he sees fit. To heck with trying to appease everyone, everytime...

Anything is possible. Perhaps the proprietor is really the terribly misunderstood second coming love child of Gandhi and Mary Poppins and all is wonderful and bright in his character.

Being in a wheelchair doesn't make you a model citizen. I know plenty of wheelchair bound folks who are world class jerks. Most are great people. Others are like the French. They are always there when they need you.

Like others have said, his house, his rules. The restaurant owner will either prosper or fail based on his attitude and selection of customers. The American way.

The guy is an asshat, but like others have said his place, his rules. I live 30 miles south of there. I know people who were told to leave for wearing a ball cap or having a tattoo showing. I've heard he's pretty racist, but I haven't seen it first hand. People here have known about this guys place and his asshattery for a long time, but now he's running for city counsel or something, so there's people mad. I can say this about the place though, the food is awesome and may be one of the best steaks I've ever paid for.

My coyote calling buddy chimes in: Guess I am gonna have to go try it.
I have eaten at this restaurant many times and have to say it is probably the best steak I've ever laid my hands on. I believe he is a former military guy and certainly All-American. When you go in his restaurant which is nothing real fancy but he does not allow hats to be worn in his restaurant and if you do he will take your hat off and hanging in the rafters. LOL. So he might be a bit radical but my hat is off to him nope unintended for standing up for what he believes that if you ever get to Enid Oklahoma by all means you better try it!

I do not care what his rules are if he serves good food. I've been through the length and bridth of Utah and I swear there is not a good place to eat in the whole bloody state

I have been working in the Enid area for over a year and haven't been in the place but will have to if the food is that good. His rules are no different than any other establishment that hangs up a sign that says they reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.

His steaks are great. Large enough to feed a family. I once asked him about his hat rule. He told me it was how his grandmother raised him. For her hats were not allowed to be worn indoors. Can't say that I can argue with his grandmother. Nice to go eat somewhere, have a drink and not worry about someone from "People of Walmart" sitting next to you. If you want to dress and be like garbage, then there are many places you can go. As far as staying in business, that won't be a problem as I have seen the very influential of the area like to hang there.

His house, his rules.... I don't think I'd go somewhere I wasn't wanted. But then, I'm not a liberal.
