Have they fixed this issue yet? I do have the new ocular upgrade but my battery still dies pretty quick even with illumination left off.

I don't really have any issues with my gen1. I just replace batts in stuff regularly though.

i just got mine. how would i know if it has the ocular upgrade? ill throw my battery in today and see how long it lasts. out of all the research i did on this scope i didnt see anything about the battery draining quickly. must not of looked hard enough!

Any of the new Razors built in the past few years have the new ocular.

Never heard of a battery drain issue but get a hold of Vortex and ask them. If there is a problem with your scope they will fix it.

I will check with Vortex. I leave it off and after a few months the battery is dead. I knew they changed some stuff on the new ocular design but didn't know if they changed something with the illumination.

Thanks.

Im curious about this too. I noticed my battery was dead awhile ago. I assumed i left it on. I know i have the new ocular. I will check mine again tomorrow, its been a few months and ill see if its dead

I've never put the battery in my 5-20. I've had the one in my 1-6 for several months and seems to be fine. Guess I'll have to check my electronics on my long range scope.

Side note, does anyone know of a proven longer lasting 2032 battery or whatever it is

Well i just got my rifle back after about a 2 month wait for some upgrades and the battery was dead. It was new when i sent it off. I called vortex and they couldnt say that there is a problem or what the problem might be. I was given the option to send it in, but im going to give it another shot to rule out human error on my part. If it happens again, i might get those strips you have to pull out of the battery compartment on certain new electronics to make sure the battery is fresh if and when i need it

My Vortex Razor HD illumination would work intermittently and found the battery was loose. Added a few discs of paper on top of the battery when closing the battery cap to give tighter contact and now it works perfectly and have not had any issues with short battery life, as long as I remember to turn it off.

Mine was doing the same, just had to stretch the spring a litte and problem solved. I am having a similiar issue with the batterys going dead though, Id like to hear what Vortex has to say(not that it's a huge deal).
