Don't know if this is common knowledge yet but the FCP-K rifles are no longer being produced. There seem to be some remaining in stock/supply but those will assuredly dry up.

I just purchased one (FLCP-K) because it seemed to be a (reportedly) good shooting, well featured LH .308 bolt rifle.

Bummer. I also have a FLCP and it is a good shooter. Hate to see left handed options go.

Yeah I just went over to the website and did a gun finder search. Only five offerings in the 308 family now, none heavy barrel.

Curse you ATR!

10FCP HS Precision and McMillan...not to mention the 11 Hog Hunter and 10P/P-SR, 10TR, and 11VT dealer exclusives.

Legitimately a little choked up. Savage had a lot of good south-paw options and a lot of more unique and interesting rifles, and now...gone. Its like millions of rifles cried out in terror, and were then silent.

That hurts. I just bought a FLCp because the threaded and heavy barrel. Also i heard it is a pretty good shooter straight out of the box. Which it is.

Savage was the only company out there with some real choices for lefties.

Well, there is Tikka, but they are a pain to get, service, and lack some of the flexibility of Savage.

I have a 223 and 308 version and love them both. Mine are both leftys and as stated above its one of the only ways to get a lefty heavy barrel rifle at a decent price. My 223 shoots under .4" 3 shot groups and the 308 is not far behind either.

I am glad I got mine already !!

The 10FCPK is one of the best packages out there with the fluted and threaded barrel installed with a muzzle brake, dbm, accustock, oversized bolt knob and 20moa base. This discontinuing only leads me to believe that there will be a new rifle coming out.

I have one and it is an easy 1/4 rifle, sometimes better, shot well with accu-stock but I didnt like the plastic feel so I put an hs stock on it and skim bedded it.

Just spoke for a new FCP-K in .308 and recently found one slightly used in .300 Win Mag I just bought as well. I've had the .223 version for a year or so now and it shoots awesome.

I didn't know they at one time made a FCP-K in .300 Win Mag until just a few months ago, but as soon as I learned that the hunt was on! :)

This idea crossed my mind as well. The fact that they are closing them out at a reduced price swayed me to getting one now rather than fence sitting and having nothing.

If they release something new/truly better I'm stuck with a great rifle. If they do not, I still have a great rifle.

I'll take a stab at this, the new owners don't want you Joe Blow Gunsmiths working on their rifles w/ after-market parts. Great American rifle down the tubes.

I knew this was coming and I made a comment about how things would change as soon as ATK took over. Bean counters only count beans. I'm sure they would just as soon sell 100% axis for $349 than mess with all the other models.
I'm sure that a person could still order from their custom shop. I did and I think I did it just in the nick of time. The stick is a shooter. The price of the rest of my Savage's just went up!

I just bought a FLCPK in .308 great rifle for the money. I was hoping to get one in .223 in the coming months but i would imagine it will be a pain to source one now in europe. That really sux. Savage had some really great stuff for the lefties. I hope they will continue I am now doubtful though. :(

They should have offered more calibers especially in the 260 category, in both LH and RH models. They are way behind on that one. I would have bought a LH 260.

The force is strong with that one.

The south paw support is what drew me to Savage, since the last time I've bought rifles Savage was my only left bolt action I could find without going to a kelby, Shilen, bat.... custom action. I don't regret it one bit my two Savage rifles shoot as good as I can ask for.

I don't know how many of the FLCP-K's were made and sold (among the other discontinued models) but I do fear this will limit the development of further after market products, particularly stocks, going forward.

I had planned to live with the Accu-stock on my FLCP-K until I could afford something better. Now? Hmmm.

I bet there are some floating around still. I have seen some pop up lately. Savage shooters usually has some lefties pop up on a regular basis.

This makes me sad, my first bolt gun was a FCP-K in .308...really great rifle in general but for the price I don't think it could be beat

Maybe they are finally retiring the "bottom bolt release" - it was a pita.

I suspect they will have something equivalent or better coming along.

I just got my .308 in. I now own the .223, .308, and .300 Win Mag version of this rifle. I am wanting to ad a tactical stock to each and a Sightron Scope to each as funds allow.

I sent in a ticket to see if there was any information and their reply was pretty generic:
"We change models in our catalogue depending on the demand per our sales department. If you want a specific model made. Please call 1-800-370-0708 option 6 and ask for the special order department for pricing."
