So I've been looking around the net, and the only thread I found here at the hide is "This one" that is basically just what everyone wanted and personal preference.

I'm really looking at the Bushnell XRS in FDE with the H59 but I was wondering what the actual differences are ON PAPER between the XRS and the ERS in equivalent models.
Both the 4.5-30x50, both with the H59, both in FDE.

Is the only difference between the two, the glass used or are there some other features that I'm not finding?

And while we're on the topic. I was pretty sold on the XRS, till the 4.5-27x56 Vortex Razor HD II came out.
It appears to be significantly longer and heavier than the XRS, but it also has about 5 mils more elevation adjustment (advertised), a 56mm Objective, and illumination.

I did get to look through the XRS and ERS at the NRA convention in Houston last spring, but that was almost a year ago, and it was inside at the wall which was only 100 yds or so.

In my experience the only difference is the price, the weight, and the length of the scope.
Same glass, even the same as the DMR... in my experience the ERS is the better buy... the glass doesn't have enough resolution or brightness to handle 30x. 21x is about the limit it can handle in my experience with several ET 6-24s, several DMRs and an XRS.

Did some more reading and it's not really even a toss up anymore. Even if the glass is the same, the features are much more inviting on the XRS.

Not sure where you are reading, but these #'s look a little off, but then again there are a few versions of the ERS to choose from. The ERS from the thread you linked is FFP not SFP. ERS also has 34mm tube and .1mil clicks. The weight is 35 oz per Bushnell website which seems right from my memory. The biggest difference between the two is that the XRS is 4.5-30x50 where the ERS is 3.5-21x50. I'm not sure about the 10.2" length on the XRS either, but someone with first hand knowledge will have to chime in with that one. There is a 6-24x50 version of the ERS, but by all accounts that I have heard, it is an earlier gen scope and not up to the quality of the ones I've discussed. This is reflected in the price. Dieselgeek, from the post you referenced has a great review on the ERS. I have just recently purchased this scope and have yet to shoot with it, so specs are really all I can reflect upon at this time. Hope this helps.

There are 2 versions of the ERS, the 30mm main tube version and the 34mm main tube version. The 34mm version is virtually the exact same optic as the XRS just reduced magnification and such. Another way to state it is that the 34mm version of the ERS is a much upgraded DMR/HDMR.

There also used to be 2 versions of the XRS. Up until recently the 4.5-30x50 30mm main tube version was labeled an XRS on their website.
Apparently Bushnell likes to recycle scope names.

I think it's safe to assume when anyone here talks about the ERS or XRS they are referring to the evolution of the DMR, not the older 30mm tube models.
Up until the new ERS and XRS came out, I'd never heard the old 30mm versions referred to as such... they were the ET 6-24 and ET 4.5-30.

idk, with the XRS around $1660 and ERS around $1520. I went ahead and got the XRS.... No regrets

Makes sense now, was comparing the wrong optics due to the confusion on the naming methods. The actual internal elevation adjustment range on the XRS is right around 28 mil, the 50" at 100 yd published data is an odd way of saying that you have 50" of up travel.

Not to carry on with comparing the wrong optics, but since I already went down that road...I can absolutely tell you that more usable optic between the 34mm XRS and ERS is the ERS for 2 reasons. The eye box on the XRS is picky and the light transmission above 20 magnification is sub standard.

Size difference between the 2 34mm tube models:
