I wasn't planning on swapping out the tupperware stock that comes on the 10p (non-accustock) for a while, but this choate popped up on a local for for a very good price, fit exactly my rifle (action screw spacing, DBM, and trigger guard bolt release) which is kind of a pain to find, let alone find used locally, so I had to pick it up. Very happy with the way it feels and everything fit perfect. I'e never seen a cheek riser like this on a Choate before, and I actually really like it. It feels like it is nearly perfect for me height wise, I'll be able to tell for sure when I can get behind it and actually shoot. It is missing the front sling swivel stud, but its an easy replacement.

Here is a pic, sorry for the messy countertop lol

Nice! I just picked up a Savage 10 in a Choate stock and I am very happy with it!

i recently put one on a rem700, very nice stock for the price, fits my stumpy arms and girlie sized hands well too.

i was thinking of picking up two of those risers (low & high), but for a few bucks less i put on a knock off stock pack with a piece of foam under it to give me the just right height.

I have read this stock has a large palm swell, which having average sized hands has me a tiny bit wary.

You say its not too bad?

Been thinking about one of these for an old staggerfeed Sav 110.

yeah, it's not really bad at all. it is a huge / fat grip, which at first also had me wondering about getting it for the size of my hands.

for offhand shots, it poses a little bit of lack of confidence for me, but for bench or prone it's actually nice, sort of forces me not to "over grip / torque" the rifle. if you tend to death grip a rifle (which is a curse and a blessing in some instances), it's hard to do with the choate.

i got some pictures here comparing it to a pack of smokes:

http://www.snipershide.com/shooting...950-another-choate-tactical-stock-review.html

also with my stumpy arm length, i took out the lop spacers and flipped the recoil pad upside down. fits like a glove without having to hacksaw anything.

if thinking PTG bottom metal : http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/snipers-hide-d-i-y/219944-diy-ptg-stealth-dbm-install.html

there also was a guy here selling one for a savage magazine fed for like 100.00 with extra mags, i don't know if it's still available

back to the grip size and my hand size, i have difficulty gripping a full framed glock properly and running the buttons smoothly, if you are in the same boat, i have no problem with the palm swell of the choate, just as a point of reference.

sholzer - didn't mean to veer off your thread.

one more thing, if you plan on running a stock pack, you basically lose the use of the rear side sling studs, but there is a place to install one on the bottom. due to the weight, i can't see me using it on a hunting rig, so no big deal. but if your running a sling for competition, it's something to consider that.

I think you will be ok. I consider my hands average size and it fits well. Sometimes with a smaller grip you can grab too much trigger and pull the shot. The larger swell allows me to have a solid grip on the rifle and just put my finger tip on the trigger. Trigger control is the #1 thing I find that helps me with accuracy.

I have a savage 10P and have had a hard time figuring out which stock will fit it since it has the bolt release in front of the trigger guard and the detachable mag.Can you tell me which stock you have from choate and if you had to do anything to it to get it to fit. Thanks Nice rifle by the way
