Good afternoon Gents,

I apologize if this question has been asked before. I'm thinking about purchasing the Nightforce ATACR
7-35X56 F1 with the Mil-R reticle. It'll be use for LR shooting and PRS in the future. I already have a Gen2 Razor & Minox ZP5, both phenomenal scope. I thought of adding a Nightforce in the family. How do you guys like yours and where to get one for a good price (Military/Veteran discount)? Thanks, Gentlemen and have a good day. Oliver

I own a 5-25 F1 with the Mil-R and I like it, I don't have a problem with the reticle, even though some don't like it but I think you'll find back and forth opinions on just about anything in this hobby. A friend of mine has the 7-35 and I got to take a gander through it after a match and I was pretty impressed by it. Up at 35X there didn't appear to be a lot of image degradation and it appeared entirely usable throughout the mag range, I also think the parallax went down to 25 yards or less, can't quite remember. It's a helluva package.

Thank you, Sir I appreciate the info. Although I really like the Horus reticle, I think Mil/R ret will be fine for my intended use and save the +/- $400 :).

Do yourself a favor and hold out for the Mil-C reticle. You'll thank me later.....:)

10-4 thanks for the info, Fursniper. Anyone knows the actual release date with the Mil-C and in what mag? Just did a quick search, I'm digging the .2 increments adjustment! Man oh man you making it hard for me, Fur!

I have a 7-35x and absolutely love it. The parallax goes down to 10 meters, pretty incredible. It resolves very well at 35x. I wouldn't shoot on that power, but for observation it's great. I emailed Nightforce last week to ask about the mil-c and they told me that if they put it in the scope watch for it around shot show 2018. So I'll just roll with the mil-r until then and have it swapped when it's ready. The glass is great and it's super bright in low light. I have it on my SRS and they definitely understate the travel because on a 40 moa base I'm getting 28.5 mils of elevation with my 16" .308 barrel shooting factory 168 gr. Fgmm.
I'm still getting used to the mil-r because I come from tree reticle like the ebr-2c and ebr-7 (my favorite), but it's growing on me. I think outside of the S&B 5-45 this is one scope that I could see myself really keeping for years to come.
I can't compare it to the minox as I've never had one, but I think it's brighter than the razor gen 2 I had.

Lol! Well, if you don't want to wait, buy another Minox ZP5 with the M4 reticle. You'll get a floating dot, christmas tree, and a ranging capable reticle all in one. You'll be money ahead to boot!

Awesome, Covertnoob5! Thanks for the info, bud. Yes, I think I will pick up the Mil-R and later convert to Mil-C. I already have a few offer on my PM inbox...thanks hiders!
To my eyes, my Minox is a bit brighter and crisp compare to my Gen2 Razor. And I'm sure the I will like the Nightforce ATACR F1 based on from what I've read.

We have the Nightforce 7-35 both in Mil-R and Tremor 3 in stock! The Tremor 3 is not on our site yet so please call 916-670-1103 for hide pricing. I don't expect to see the Mil-C on the 7-35 until sometime next year after Shot Show at the earliest. Some other options to consider are the Kahles K624i 6-24 with the SKMR3 reticle (Here next week) and the Minox ZP5 5-25 with the MR4 which will be here tomorrow. We'd be happy to help you in your decision so please feel free to call us

No worries. If you have any other questions I'll do my best to answer what I can. This was the first high magnification (anything over 27x) I've owned as I've never really been a mag whore, but after being able to use that 35x on early morning shoots or just days with good weather, it really is a great tool to have. I hunt with my SRS so I'm anxious to get it out and put it through those paces.

Roger that thanks, brother! Had a Sightron 8-32 scope, great glass for the money without all the bells and whistles, but the high mag sure is handy as spotting scope..lol

Owners,
How do you like 35-x magnification? Does it make sense?
By the way, talked to NF guys too, they said that possibly they will add Mil-C to ATACR F1 7-35 and Beast in 2018.

I think it makes sense if you understand the situation you'll be using it in. I'm here out west so for hunting I think it'll work out great for me because everything out here is so open and long range that it'll make spotting deer racks very easy. Also, when I'm at the range it's great for spotting on paper at 200 yards and such, especially since I usually shoot by myself. I never thought I'd really need anything over ~24x that my AMG offers me, but once you get to actually see something at 35x it's impressive. Add to that the 10 meter parallax and it really is an impressive package.
I think they will add it based on the conversations I've had with NF, but I wouldn't expect it until at least shot 2018.

Thanks for the response.

Indoor dry fire practice, or comps when you have targets that are close it gives you a little more wiggle room to get it parallax free. It may serve another purpose that I haven't thought of yet, but it certainly doesn't hurt to have it.

The mil-c is only available in the 5-25 ATACR right now. If you read the posts in this thread you'll see we mention that NF says they'll put the mil-c in the 7-35 possibly around shot show 2018.
