Rifle Scopes US Optics B25 - My Thoughts

I will start off by saying that this optic is a very quality item and as to be expected of US Optics. I chose the Tremor 3 reticle and it suits me well, major props to Horus for the great design!
Getting down to the details...... The optic has locking turrets , FFP, Mil/Mil, tool-less zero adjustment, 0 stop and their new illumination single button on the parallax knob. The glass is very clear and the optic tracks well, as to be expected.

My Thoughts:

- The windage turret is pull out to adjust and push in to lock and works well
- The elevation knob has a locking ring that you pull up to lock and push down to unlock, if you do not pull up on it with equal force on both sides it can be hard to move to the lock position, however it is easier to unlock it.
- The Tool - Less zero adjustment is nice once you figure it out. It uses a top serrated ring that you unlock to adjust your zero ( the turret still clicks when adjusting) but it will not move your POI until the top serrated ring is tightened back down. I did have it come loose on me one time, but it was likely because I did not tighten it down all the way. Anyway, the system works well, just read the instructions first!
- The Illumination button on the parallax turret is nicely placed and works well. Push it until you get the brightness you desire, push again to turn off. Easy!
- The Glass is clear and crisp as expected, but when above 15 power, I do get the tunneling effect and have to move my eye closer to the scope to get a full sight picture.
- The power ring has just the right tension on it for my taste, easy to turn and firm in place
- The 0 stop is different to me, it utilizes a top flat head screw that you tighten or loosen to acquire the correct amount of down from zero stoppage lol ( Read instructions!!)

- Overall the optic is great, once I learned the new features. Im not a big fan of the higher power tunneling, but with the right scope placement it can be over-come. Also make sure and set your diopter correctly before you decide what placement is best. I give this scope a B+ rating , I still prefer a Kahles 624i but this product does what it needs to and the glass is sharp!!!!

I recently got mine. Gen2XR rect. Ive used it in 1 major match in Utah, and so far so good. Tracking was spot on. Glass, as you mentioned, was surprisingly good. Much better than the last 2 Ive owned. Not sure why. Clicks might up there for my favorite as for spacing and feel. Very similar to my Vortex Gen2. (I havnt got to compare to the Vortex for glass or feel side by side because I lent the Razor to a friend but when I get it back I will do a little review)

I really like the locking knobs. Much better than the Vortex, and really my only complaint of the vortex, is I accidentally lock the knobs when dialing under stress and pull down too hard when dialing. THe B25 locking knob is under the knob and cant be accidentally hit. that was nice.

One thing I don't like is the short knob. I like taller knobs generally but its a personal pref and Im coming around. Still wish it was taller.
Other thing is this scope seems really long. I don't know the measurements or even if it matters. just a visual pref...


I have no idea what you are talking about high power tunneling tho. that's what made me respond at all. It sounds like you have the scope mounted too far forward maybe and the eye box is causing eye relief issues and the blacking out...?

What do you like more about your Kahles to prefer over the B25? just curious...I only like they offer a .2 rect. I give glass and tracking edge to USO for sure...


Overall Id agree with you tho. Great scope and hope they keep up the good work for a USA made optic. That why I got one.

I talked with uso about the tunneling past 15 power and they said that they are aware of the issue, and state it's just part of the design. I have the scope setup perfect for 15 power and under, just past 15 power I have to move closer a tad bit.
I would out this glass with comparable clarity to kahles for sure, and probably a SB as well, be hard to tell unless they were side by side.
I like the 624i the best because of the left side windage, the simple turrets, and the overall size and design. Just more efficient in my opinion. I've never needed locking turrets, but I do see that there is a need in certain situations.

When you found this issue out did you observe that when dialing back down the reticle came down immediately or did it start coming back down when the turret reached the point where it had stopping traveling originally.

my last trip out I had saved some rounds for the mile steel and I had dialed what I thought was 20.5 mils on my B17 (the scope dials to around 24 mils and I only have a 20 moa cant built into the action). I saw no impact but figured it was far off enough and I had no spotter so I might not have been able to see. But the strange part was when I went to use the last remaining rounds at the 300 yard I wasn't hitting or spotting hits so now you have me wondering if I dialed past what I had for travel and when I dialed down it started immediately and I effectively lost my zero.

i to also experienced through the day where the lock for the zero slipped once while dialing and I had to rezero cause I wasn't sure where I was.

If I remember correctly the scope would begin tracking downward again once we got to the same point each time. I could be wrong though. Needless to say I have no faith in USO product any longer as this is a completely inexcuseable issue.

Thanks must've been my shitty shooting then at 300 then haha. But I'll have to try and perform some rigorous testing at a shorter distance to test if mine experiences that issue.

I am not ready to damn the thing yet. There's enough other things I like about it that if it confirmed it does dial beyond travel I could live with it so long as I know where that point is and know that it doesn't change.

When you say "tunneling" I'm assuming you mean the shortening of eye relief. This is pretty common and I wouldn't knock USO too much for it (and I dont think you are). If I can make a suggestion I would recommend that you remount your scope and set your eye relief while the scope is at full magnification. When you zoom out your eye relief should still be good. The eye relief range typically just becomes smaller at higher mag. It might be worth a try. This is SOP for me for this very reason. Let us know if that doesn't fix the issue for you.

So if you still own the B-25 do you have any long term updates?
