Howa 1500 Barreled Actions in .223, 7mm-08, .204 Ruger, and 22-250 for $250.00 Bucks? Assorted Barrels as well? WTF? That's not just Banana's, it's Nut's. For $250 I'd leave the Boat Gun in the Boat. ;)

The bottom has definitely fallen out of the market but I'm still not buying from PT&G. Dave makes good shit but his entire sales dept needs to be fired, the only thing that they do with any consistency is piss off customers.

I've heard that. Myself, I've never done business with them. But I very well may. Ain't for me, I don't care. lol So mean.

Shouldn't you be reading your new Harlequin Romance?

    Damn right.

A few months ago I needed a 7mm-08 A.I. reamer. I purchased, the funds cleared, then I received an e-mail stating it would be 6 to 8 weeks. On the 6 week mark, to the day, I called. Sumbitch if they didn't build, and ship, my reamer in three days.

    Assholes.

I have bought a couple reamers, and a 30 caliber adjustable throat reamer, and although it was only three orders, I never had any issues with his office staff. But I haven't ordered anything for a couple of years, and things can change.

I tried to order a stock from them. They couldn't tell me if they had one in stock, so they would go look and call me back. Hadn't heard from them in two days, so I ordered one from someone else. Two days after that, they called and said that they had one, and got pissed and copped a big attitude when I told them that they didn't call me so I ordered from someone else. Girl on the phone was dumb as a brick. I hope she looks good because she will never make it off her brains.

They have a screaming deal on trued Remington actions as well.

Just so you know the PTG bolts supplied with this action are NOT the 1 piece bolts (I assumed they were). They are seconds which have had the bolt handle removed and then sleeved to the body. It looks kinda ..... bubbaed. Sorry PTG, I am done with you.

I'm pretty certain after perusing the posts I'm not going down this road. All input is greatly appreciated. I'm not into rolling the Dice with my time and money. Thanks Gentlemen.

If either the 223 or 22-250 was at least a 1:8 I would take the risk of ordering direct from ptg. According to legacy sports 223 is 1:9 and 22-250 is 1:12. I wouldn't mind a cheap 22-250 that'd shoot 75gr amax (or whatever replaced it).

7mm08 light weight 20". Should be a decent hunting rifle for the kids.

I remember when I was a good guesser. Crap.

Oh ya, buddy of mine just bought one for one of his Daughters. Her first year this year. Just got her Hunter Safety done. She's 10 and a real go getter. His two girls love to fish and enjoy the outdoors with Dad. He's done a great job with them.

Did you put your ffl's address in the delivery address during checkout? Thanks.

No, they said to e-mail it and reference the order number, as my LGS was not on file there.

Did get a delay e-mail, called and they said not to worry, as that's automatic from when they only sold blueprinted actions. I bought the next to last 7mm-08 lightweight. All the .22-250 actions looked to have short barrels, and I want at least 24" for that one.

I never got the delay e-mail. From my inbox:

You have received a new message from Pacific Tool and Gauge regarding order with the reference

Message: Thank you for your order. Your order is currently in stock, we do our best to ship in a timely manner, but please allow up to 7 business days for processing.

    Best Regards,
    Customer Service

They have my money and FFL. We'll see...

I ordered a 223 receiver a while back on the sale. Said wait 8 weeks. Called me in about 8 weeks and said won't be making any 223s you can take a 308 or money back. Now I have a new 223 and a new 243. Bastards

    They called you back, crazy.

PTG called me yesterday to let me know the 7-08 that was shown to be in stock actually sold on the 6th and I could pick another barreled action or get a refund. I'm pondering if I want a 223, 22-250 or refund. Almost ordered a stock Friday; glad I held off. FWIW, as of yesterday afternoon they had a 7rem mag, standard barrel in stock that's not listed on the site.

I ordered a bottom medal with detachable mag from them in January for a 700 build, it was in stock according to the website. A few days later, I got an email stating it was not in fact in stock, and it would be a few weeks.

In April, I called because that was a bit more than "a few weeks" and I was still waiting. They said the batch they just got back had bad anodizing, so it would be a few more weeks. I wasn't able to cancel the order without paying a restocking fee, so I waited it out.

When June rolled around, still no product. I sent a few emails asking for a refund & order cancellation, but never got a reply. So I called and talked to one of their sales reps, I was ready to threaten claiming fraud to my credit card compamy unless they refunded my purchase, but it never came to that. The sales rep said that the wait was a little over the top, and he'd refund the purchase no problem.

July rolls around, still no refund. Called back, sales rep pulled up the file and realized he was the one I spoke with about canceling a month prior. He apologized, and said it would be taken care off. 2 weeks later, I finally got the refund.

After that experience with PTG, I'll never do business with them again, and would recommend others stay away too.

They must ship via carrier goat. Action out for delivery today, and UPS showed 14 city load/unload stops between them and my LGS, not counting the destination or origination. I hope there is still cardboard left around the action!

Hope it arrives to you in good condition.

I canceled my order yesterday. I spent a couple days trying to talk myself into getting a 223 or 22-250 in lieu of the 7-08, but just couldn't do it. The guy I talked to there was Chris. He was easy to get ahold of and helpful.

Got mine this week. Other than it being Kyptek camo instead of blued (per their description), and picking it up from UPS because they shipped to the wrong address, I guess I'm happy.

It looks unfired, but some surfaces have been beat to fuck. I wonder if these were demo guns or something?

Glad you dodged a bullet. It took me almost 7 months to get a custom bolt out of them, and they managed to misplace the order records. I called to check on it and the woman who answered the phone was like "Wha'?" I think they must take the orders down on bar napkins.

I ordered a trued action from PTG in January. In April I called them to see where it was. It was originally supposed to take 8 weeks. The woman who answered the phone must be paid to be dumb as a box of rocks. They tell you every lie you want to hear. Tried to get my money back because they said it would be another 8 weeks. They wanted a re-stocking charge. Finally, I just ordered a stainless Remington action because that was the only thing that was truly in stock. I am supposed to get my rifle completed in two weeks. I hope the action works well. PTG sucks, don't order anything from them.

I've heard all the horror stories from PTG as well. The only thing I've ever bought was a Stealth bottom metal that I never did use and will go on sale here soon. It was a while ago but delivery must have been OK because I don't remember being pissed off.

So, because I've been thinking of building a 223 bolt gun for a while I couldn't pass up $250 for a Howa barreled action. Ordered a 20" in some tan/brown kryptec camo whatever. I'll e-mail the FFL tonight or tomorrow then the wait begins.

I'll report back when I get it.

Without going into all the gory details, your experience closely resembles mine (multiple occasions......shame on me.).
