Coldbore Question

In Coldbore, take note as to what your offsets do to your other outputs or any of the info you will depend on, an example of this is when we entered our vertical offset in our 100 yard zero used in our KO2M rifles it threw the spin drift way out a wack yet Field Firing Solutions, Trasol, and Applied Balistics did not show the same issue when given the same 100 yard vertical offset. When I contacted Coldbore the responce came back "intresting but we have no help"

Cheers

We ended up running the ColdBore program without the SD on and did a hard copy of what the SD would be using a true 100 zero then added the SD input to our windage correction. I don't want to derail the OP here you can always PM me.

Cheers
Jeff

Sure? Never happened to me. Moreover, I have checked what you said about the SD and the offsets and never had any issue to deal with. Can you post an example? FWIW I'm running CB version 1.0.6.0 and Phone 1.0.5.0

I'm running a current issue spring of 2017 Coldbore in a Panasonic FZ-E1

Just running windage corrections for Spin drift no wind

With the Applied Ballistic program - 100 zero range zero height offset 32.4"
100 yards = 0.0 mils
500 yards = 0.1 mils left
1000 yards = 0.2 mils left
2000 yards = 0.4 mils left
3000 yards = 0.9 mils left

With Trasol - zero setting for 100 yards = 9.0D
100 yards = 0.0 mils
500 yards = 0.1 mils left
1000 yards = 0.2 mils left
2000 yards = 0.6 mils left
3000 yards = 1.3 mils left

With ColdBore - zero setting zero height setting 32.4 inches for zero range of 100 yards
100 yards = 3.7 mils to *Right
500 yards = 0.7 mils to *Right
1000 yards = 0.2 mils to *Right
2000 yards = 0.3 mils left
3000 yards = 0.9 mils left

My shooting partner has the Field Firing Solutions in a Trimble
My rifle in his system graduates out from 100 yards as seen in the Applied Ballistics and Trasol as far as corrections applied for SD

So you can see how the ColdBore system does not acknowledge the spin drift starting from the muzzle but calculates it from the point of cross hair zero's in this case 1375 yards give or take mattering on the DA when offset at 32.4" or 9 mil hold under for a 100 target.

OneShot

I ran an example with my own data and this is what I got with CB on my Phone version 1.0.5.0

I set the ZH the same as in your example at 32", yielding a TZ of 1055 yards, while the ZR is 100 yards. No wind. SF = 1.7

Despite the different numbers, our data is not the same, the trend is not showing what you got.

Here is all the info and parameters that were set, run a dummy copy of this in yours to see if its different then my results

First off hand held is a 2017 Panasonic FZ-E1 toughpad handheld
ColdBore system info
1.0.4.0 Data base version 17

uploaded in the phone version

Settings and Parameters
Da - On
Field Environment - On
DA - Sight in 992 Feet
DA - Field Enviro - 3000 Feet

Bullet Parameters
361 Grains
3050 FPS
Ballistic Coefficient - 0.965
Drag Coefficient - 0.500

Scope Parameters
Click Setting - 0.101
Sight Height - 2.47 inches
Zero Range - 100 yards
Zero Height - 32.4 inches
Zero Windage - 0 inches
Stabilty Factor 2.47 inches - Right twist

Aero jump info
Bullet Dia - 0.375 inches

Nose Lenght 1.509 inches
Btail Lenght 0.348 inches
Dase Dia - 0.296

So when you go to the shoot! settings window which gives you all the corrections and slide to the settings window to engage the SD the screen then reads by the SD icon that - Spin Drift is set at 1395 Yards

This in turn gives me the altered SD corrections as noted below

Let me know if you come up with a different result then I, or stumble across the culprit.

Cheers
