I'm about 14 weeks into my 8-10 week wait. I've emailed and left voicemail 4 times over the last few weeks hoping for the industry standard line of a few more weeks (just an update) with no reply. Is this how they do? Are they still in business? First time trading w/ Joshua Kunz.

Yeah it's usually a day or two standard to get back with you and he is on vacation so once he's back you'll be gtg. Josh is great and the finished product will be worth the wait.

It is just Josh and one part time worker, as far as I know. As has been stated before, any business management aspects takes time away which he could actually be working on the builds. This is why Bison Tactical has started stocking certain PVA barrels. They are very busy and will get back to you as time permits. Keep in mind that Josh also has a full time job, besides PVA. They are a great company, just be patient. I know that is not what you want to hear but itll be worth it.

Oh this is good to know actually, i was about to call regarding my order but if hes on vacation I'll give him some time. I sure am excited to get my barrel! Been waiting since early June.

As others have stated, he is usually very good about communication, have no worries!

Josh actually went full time running PVA a few months back.

Josh will get back to you and you will be happy with the end result.

He's only one person and he's definitely in demand because he builds quality stuff. I've had to wait for things too, but his builds flat out shoot.

He's a good dude, just has a lot on his plate.

I am having a BA done by him right now too. I've heard nothing but good things and really want to use his rifle at the lone survivor match. He told me a couple weeks back that he has been making some good progress on meeting dead lines. I've already put in my order for the next barrel and have not received the first one yet. But I'm sure like everyone else has said, it will be worth the wait.

I'll vouch for Josh as well; he's a good guy, and dedicated to doing good work and making sure that his customers are happy. As has been mentioned, he only recently went full time running PVA, and I can only imagine all of the work that has to be done in that regard as well as actual, paying work.

I kinda think of it like this - you're juggling a bunch of running chainsaws, and you can't drop 'em or set 'em down... but you need to put gas in one, adjust the carburetor on another, set the chain tension on a third, etc...

I can only imagine balls it must take to voluntarily give up a gig that you know will pay your bills, for something that you are driving by yourself. There's no sales team out there getting leads or signing up customers, there are no project managers lining up the various bits and pieces or managing the scope of the project, there's no team in accounting to make sure that all the suppliers get paid (and that all the customers pay) or that the books balance, etc...

Given everything that he has going on, I am certainly willing to be patient with the guy...

Josh is a solid guy and will contact you I am sure when he returns. You will be very happy with the rifle when you get it. I know I have been.

I've been waiting on a build for over a year now. Josh has been super great about returning emails, usually within 24 hours. That is part of the reason I went with him. I know I read in an older thread that it is easier to get ahold of him though email than phone, but obviously that doesn't matter if he is on vacation.

Mr.Kirk as some have said above we are on a short vacation this week before the summer is totally over. Please forgive the simewhat short response and grammar mistakes as my phone doesnt quite handle forum interfaces all that well.

i dont know who you are by your username but if you can send me an email or a message thru the PVA facebook page i can login remotely to see where your order is on the web tracking. A PM here sometimes works but I am not on the forum much because of keeping my nose to the grindstone. I try to get bacl to emails regularly but phone calls aremt always the best because I keep away from the phome while i am running barrels lest I make a mistake and crash something.

this summer has been quite a rush of vendot balancing and catch-up. Leaf times quoted were based on habing parts on the scedule as vendors promised them. The worst issue was a dry-up of barrels a couple minths ago and all of them still havemt arrived but I am nearly caught up with what wasmt delivered.

I have been late on some stuff myself as I had an unplanned 2 weeks in july where I ended up having surgery/recovery from that. I back running thru stuff full time and catching up on a lot of things quickly.

probitron I appreciate the vote of confidence. I dont know your username either but please hit me up with a PM so we can talk about your status as well.

That's the gun business. People who build; guns, surfboards, hotrods. I build shit that I hate, always on time.

And that is basically what I told him too, bad part was he sold his other rifle based on the fact that he would have a new one to shoot at a specific time. Missed a few matches because of it.

Did he send all the parts to be assembled? If not then that is where the waiting starts as smiths can only give estimations for parts not on hand as you have to wait for the barrel, or a custom stock to be made or action etc. and then when there is a problem with any of the parts it can easily add time. I have played the waiting game to but all part of buying a custom rifle.

So, did you get your rifle?

The only reason those businesses keep getting away with it, is because customers allow them to and fan boys defend the practice. The shooting world has made it a testosterone filled badge of courage to wait longer than you're quoted for stuff.
