It's beginning to look more and more like an Oprah hurricane season.
"You get a hurricane! You get a hurricane! You all get hurricanes!"

The two major models are scary close to each other now for Jose ambling back to the east coast after doing a loop.

Way too far to call it a given, but damn!

As it is, my sister and brother-in-law are safe and 'comfortable' in Naples. Their home is ok, though there is a lot of water everywhere. Everywhere except "in" their home. Trees are bare, but standing.

Current GFS forecast shows Jose crawling up the NC/VA coastlines before drifting inland. Another slow moving pain in the ass.

Those models are virtually best guess outside 7-8 days, especially when talking about hurricanes, and is made much worse when you have storms doing button hooks in the middle Atlantic with another major low still in play CONUS. It's already shifted showing NY/the Catskills actually getting hit now. Forecasters learn something new with every storm, but the models are slow to be adjusted it seems (GFS in particular).

Best COA is plan for the worst, hope for the best, be ready for both.

12z GFS still holding it close to east coast with landfall around DE.
Waiting on the Euro.

Yes, this far out there are no certainties, but the reality is that there is a no major hurricane out there and it has not decided to go away yet.
So we watch and we speculate. I wouldn't book a room, but I wouldn't cancel existing plans if I already had one booked either.

This morning's GFS and Euro are both keeping Jose comfortably on his side of the border. Let's hope it stays that way.

This morning's European model shows Jose parked off the VA coast 10 days from now. Damned thing will not go away.
