I know the bolt gun world well, and thinking about what guns make sense for me and what gap they will fill. I've come to the conclusion that I need a .308 gasser in my life. Will run a good scope, detachable bipod, looking at 18", maybe 20" barrels, would like to surpess it, would like the gun to be as "versitile" as possible. Don't want a boat anchor, don't want an air weight.
Id like to keep it uner 12-1300$.
Free float, solid forend is a plus, the rest I change if need be (trigger, stock, grip, etc) but would like to as little of that as possible.
I been looking at Aero Precision just getting a complete lower and complete upper
Maybe DPMS but I don't like the Cerberus group's QC with some of their other products.
Any other suggestions?

Here you go. I did a review of a 308 18" gasser budget build just recently. Everything you are looking for and then some and was under $1200.00. Now, those barrels are not on sale anymore so expect to pay $100-$150 more than that. Shoot me a PM if your interested.

Looks like almost exactly what I want. I think I'm gonna go all Aero, just get the complete m5 lower with either the PRS stock or an A2 style (do you think a JP silent buffer spring is worth the $ if I went woth the A2?). Then go with their 18" mlok complete upper.

I don't really want to go through and get parts kits, put it together even though I'm sure I could, I just want to put the BCG, charging handle in, slap it together and shoot. For what I'm looking at on their site I'm right under 1200$. Any experience with their barrels?
