Beautiful rig. It's about that time of year here. Coyote got to a deer, within 20-30 min, before my father could after a clean shot with his bow. Coyote are out in full force, that 6.5 will do serious work.

X2 what bobke asked..
anyone tried running the Barnes LRX?? Seems like it would make a great hunting round what with the ultra tough Barnes construction and quite respectable BC..

The Grendel has become my go to for deer, hogs and varmint hunting. To me it is the modern day 30-30 with more reach.

An SBR 10.5" Grendel has more energy at 400yds than a 20" .30-30 has at 200yds when pushing a 150gr RN, the most common load in the .30-30 Winchester. The 10.5" Grendel with a 123gr SST has more retained energy already at 125yds than a 20" .30-30 with 150gr RN.

For the practical hunter, you can have half the barrel length and attach a suppressor, while still being as or more effective on-target from a little AR15, with much more accuracy potential, less recoil, and semi-auto capability for fast follow-ups.

I'm building a 12" Grendel right now. Have a ThunderBeast Ultra 5 Titanium suppressor in jail that will tip it off perfectly. Looking for deals on a Maxim PDW brace in FDE for it. Debating between one of my GRSC scopes on top and a March Optics 1-8 Shorty.

I've been shooting my Lilja 318 Grendel build the most over the past few years, and actually shot it exclusively as my main LR set-up for about 3 years just to get married to one gun and not distracted with any others. Exception was 5.56 for close-range CQM sessions in my courses. Haven't shot my .260 Rem in ages now, as all my brass needs to be trimmed, H4350 hording is still in effect, and I raped it for the Geissele trigger to put in one of my Grendels.
