ive got a case and a half of federal premium gold medal berger to shoot up. Trying to find out as much about using the brass as i can since i'll have a ton of it. How does it stack up to hornady and norma?? Im currently using hornady and still have plenty of firings left on my brass but it will be nice to know ive got plenty of more brass once its shot up. Any info will be appreciated.

In mg experience with the FGMM 308 brass: it's pretty soft and only lasts a few before the pockets went. Maybe the 6.5 Creedmoor will be different. But they will definitely work!

I would say that on the whole federal is probably about as good as hornady, not quite up there with norma. But thats just in generalities and not specific you 6.5 or your particular lots. Since youre going to have 200 of them use em.

I have done various 308, 243win and 260win brass conversions to 6.5cm. Federal is soft and doesnt last and isnt worth all the work required to convert it. 1xLC 7.62 will last much longer than Federal. You need to push the shoulder back to 6.5cm measurements, you need to trim to length, you then need to use a neck turning mandrel and then turn necks as the neck will be too thick for 6.5cm. You will then need to size the neck for .002 (or whatever you want) neck tension after neck turning. Then fireform to finish setting the shoulder (fireforming loads are still just as accurate as formed loads). I did this to 250pcs of 1xLC for my 6.5cm semi since it beat up Hornady brass pretty good and Im not shooting expensive Lapua or similar out of it.

Winchester branded 243 brass only needs to be pushed back, trimmed, neck sized and fireformed. The thinner neck doesnt require turning. But this brass did not hold up nearly as well as Lapua 308, 260rem or LC 7.62 with pockets going pretty quickly.

I read that to mean he has Federal 6.5 Creedmoor brass not 308 that needs to be converted. In that case, fire them until they croak if you ask me.

Yea, its 6.5cm brass. any idea if my load will change or anything from my hornady brass? thanks for all the replies, fellas.
