As the title states which one would you go with. Gap and jp are relatively priced, the seekins I can get for 2000 new which is almost half the price.

All 3 of these rifles are nice AR's and would perform well for you. Lrp07 is my choice. The side charging receiver is a great feature. Plus options like high pressure bolt, silent capture buffer system, and variable mass operating system are nice. JP barrel's seem to take a little more time to come in but rifles are as accurate as anything available after 200 rounds. The JP is a beautiful, full custom rifle that you would be proud to own.

GAP 10 would be my second choice of the 3 listed.

went through same thing a few weeks back and ended up with larue build kit.. of those though, unless one of them has can't live without features, the Seekins would be tough to beat. I had an SP10, and regret selling it. The Gap is a worked over Seekins with their barrel, etc. JP seems to be in a league of its own, and priced accordingly. I couldn't shoot 2k difference, maybe you can.

the larue kit set me back 2300, but that was with suppressor, brake, extra mags, FDE coated, assembled and test fired and amazingly enough, only took about 3 weeks to ship. would have been about 1500 without options.

Neither I'd build a Mega. Since Mega Arms has merged with Zev many not all but of Mega's retailers are liquidating stock and the prices are insane. For example I've seen MML uppers for $350 when I paid $650 for mine.

The Seekins SP10 in 6.5CM is the way to go if on a Budget, but if not.. The JP LRP07 all day long, they have recently made some changes to the LRP07 in 6.5CM that have set it above the rest.. also don't forget if you're MIL or LEO JP give a nice discount.

bigjake, could you talk about changes JP has made?

JP is now exclusively running the plus 2 gas system in all large frame rifles, making the 6mm and 6.5 creedmoor even softer than before improving site recovery, brass life, and Barrel harmonics. They've come up with a new takedown pen system that are fitted for each individual rifle taking any play whatsoever out of the equation. And they have now perfected running a suppressed platform with the new BCG that actually has adjustable weights for fine turning your system.

I have owned a GAP10, still own a JP LRP07 and SP10. All have been in 6.5cm. The JP has all the bells and whistles Jake speaks of, its basically the suppressor ready package...

My opinion humbly...The SP10 is always my go to and competition gun...You can get two for the price of 1 JP. The JP cost is not worth especially how accurate the SP10 can be with a good load or factory ammo.

I were to do this again it would have been 2 SP10s....Once I burn out the throat on the SP10, you can just get a new barrel for it. If I got 1 Spend the extra cash on a good scope.

Well after a very gracious member sent me a certificate for 30% off on seekins website I can get the sp10 for about 1850 otd so I'm going with that. Since the certificate is good for the whole cart I'd like to order some rings. Gonna be going with the seekins 2 piece rings with a vortex razor on it as the end game but an Athlon for now what height rings do I need? High? Could I get away with medium high?

Awesome choice!!!

1.5 height is perfect, keep in mind the vortex razor hd2 is 34mm and amg is 30.

You probably dont don't want to buy rings twice depending on what diameter the athlon is.

You may may want to consider an off-set type mount so you have the scope sitting a little bit forward while keeping the scope on the upper receiver. Seekins makes a nice mount and you can get 30% off with that code.

Lastly, Seekins makes a rail for a bipod attachment you'll need that as well mlok type.

Good luck!!

A bit of a side note. What happened to GA Precision's status among the members of this site? I remember going back maybe 8 years ago and they were the cream of the crop here. You could always find no less than 20 seperate threads regarding GAP's various rifles, lead times etc etc. Now it seems as there is barely a mention here and there. Did something happen?

I don't think anything happened per se, they're still a coveted platform to some. There has been an explosion of innovation in the precision rifle market and do it "Build Your Own" has become so viable that getting a Gap isn't as prevalent. So many good options now making Gap not as prevalent as before.

Excellent Point,..

I cringe when I hear how much some people pay for ARs these days... Like the new DD5V2 over $3,000.00!!!

The only company I would hand money over to for a Complete rifle is JP, only because of services rendered and quality of product..

I think the Seekins is a lot of rifle for the $$. I actually traded into one some months back and I must say it has impressed me. Accuracy has been great, nice layout on controls, and fit & finish on point. I have had a Gap 6cm built on a Mega setup, only fondled the Jp so can't say much overall about the accuracy and function of those. I have assembled ar-15 and large frames for my self with good results. But once you start really adding up the pieces your not that far off on a rifle that which has a company that will stand behind it and at around $2k, really makes it an attractive package. Just my 2 cents for what little that is worth.

I believe the SP10 will be a great rifle. I myself went with the JP with the side charging upper just because I saved and waited 3 years to get a "Dream Rifle" so I had to go with the JP I have zero regrets. If you're not satisfied with the SP10, definitely go with the LRP-07.

The JP LRP-07 is a beautifully machined rifle. It shoots as well as it is made. And if something gets screwy on it then JP customer service will come to the rescue pronto. Lastly, John Paul still is very active in the daily operations. Case in point, I sent a general email out for recommended 6.5 Creedmoor loads and John Paul personally answered my email with what he uses and what he found works well.

Anyone know how to get the 30% off certificate? I've been deciding between the GAP and SP10. 30% is hard to pass up on that rifle.

It was a gift certificate one use type deal a member gave away not so much a coupon code. I ended up with both a jp lrp07 and an sp10 by the way. This site is the worst for ny wallet

This is a slightly different experience than I had. I purchased JP LRP-07 in 6.5cm. Rifle kept having major chambering issues and tons of blown primers.

I reached out and was told I needed to get more parts, springs and they recommended a VMOS carrier. So I dumped another $500 on the issue.

I kept trying to get it fixed. After 2 months of me working on it, they asked for the rifle. It turned out to be the barrel. They replaced it after having the rifle for 2 months.

The rifle now shoots great. If you have issues, don't throw parts at the problem, send the rifle in.

In addition, I tried reaching John Paul with no effect. Didn't get to him or get a call back from him.

I own an SP10 and LRP07, my go to gun is the SP10.

How would you guys compare these to savage's msr10 rifles? As far as bang for your buck is concerned.

Well you already know what I think ( JP everyday and twice on Sunday ).

It looks like Seekins has made some updates to their 6.5 SP10 like providing their own stock (rather than the Magpul) and ditching the CMC trigger for a Timney. Does anybody else know any more specifics? It doesn't seem to be clearly outlined anywhere which makes me think it was just those two changes.

going thru the same exercise now. Looking at Larue ,LMT and LWRC as well. Which one do you like better? Is the JP worth 3500-4000 ?

I have 2 larue ultimate uppers theyre fine never handled a lwrc but the jp is super nice just call around to a few places and ask about their best price a lot of places will deal with you. I think i paid $3400 for the long range kit or whatever its called included rings, a bag, cleaning kit and a few other things

Does JP sell thru retailers? I didn’t see a retailer directory on their website

To explain further-

I'm looking for an AR 10 platform 308 to shoot and hunt with. I’d like to put a thermal scope on it and do some night hunts. I want a reliable accurate rifle that is no more than 8.5 lbs without scope and magazine and would prefer 7.5 -8 lbs.

Id pick the jp. Your definitely not getting in at under 9 pounds scoped with a jp or a larue. Maybe look at Christensen arms or build yourself for that weight but I don't see it being easy to get an ar10 to that weight and be super useful. Wilson combat no longer sells ars so unless you found a used one

I have no illusions of getting a scoped rifle under 9 lbs but I’d like to get an unscoped rifle under 8. With scope and a full magazine Imshooting for under 11 lbs. Both Larue and JP can make that happen. LWRC mk2 might make it too.

Why would you pick the JP Vs the Larue?

@rwatson708 - where did you see that Wilson Combat stopped selling AR’s? They still have them listed on the Wilson website, and I didn’t see any announcements come up after a search.

Larue makes high quality stuff. But they were the big hotness 10+ years ago when everyone had to have quad rails and weight and comfort weren't major concerns. And their stuff hasn't really changed with the times.

JP Enterprises are innovators. Best-in-class triggers and bolt carrier groups, with side-charging receivers, comfortable handguards, and very sub-moa barrels. There's really not a better brand today, in my opinion.

That interesting . I’m specifically looking at them because their a PredatAR is under 7.75lbs without scope and ammo. Seems like a newer model. I like the JP but it’s a bit more “ ala carte” which results in a nearly 4 k rifle. Maybe it’s still worth it. Any idea how long the wait is for a JP? They don’t show any availability either.

Right now? Every other American is buying an AR. Your guess is as good as mine. Just give them a call and ask.

I can testify that JP Enterprise makes one of the best if not the best AR rifles out there, I have a total of 4 JP rifles two of the are JP-15 and the other two are LRP-7. I have shot many rifles and there are a lot of good ones but nothing compares to my JP.

I recently bought a SP-10 after being on the wait list for ~ 4 months. I narrowed it down to the GAP-10 or SP-10. After talking to a GAP salesman who was handling a bolt gun build for me I decided on the SP-10. If I understood correctly the GAP-10 uses uppers/lowers from Seekins and then adds a Bartlein barrel w/ Magpul PRS stock. I thought the Seekins wouldn’t shoot that well and one day I would upgrade the barrel to a Bartlein. My SP-10 is shooting 1/2 groups every group and I’m the holdup on it not doing even better as all I’ve been shooting the past few decades have been bolt guns. I’ve never owned a gun that shot such low and consistent SDs. Using Lapua LP brass, GM210M, 130 OTMs, with Staball 6.5. Every shot is 2818-2820 fps by LabRadar. I don’t dare try to do better and if I had that Bartlein barrel that I pre-planned on replacing the button pulled barrel it came with I couldn’t change it. I’m enjoying it more than any rifle I’ve bought. If the purpose is to hit a target without malfunctions I don’t know how you do better no matter how much you spend.

Well I can pretty much have however many I want I have more than 8 JPs But if I could only have one It would be my JP LRP-7 in 308 with my Mark 6 Lupy BDC 1-6. Because it always goes bang feeds whatever round I feed it sub 1 MOA 7lps+/- You can thank me later

SR25 CC = 8.5lbs and reliability is the juice
