Been lurking and gathering info from the forum for a while, which is endless. Thank you..

Have been plinking and hunting for years, I'm at a point now where I can build my first custom bolt rifle. Going with a 300 win mag. McMillan gamescout, Defiance hunter and Bartlein 3B, that was easy. Picking out a scope is a lot tougher decision, the rifle will be used for steel, paper and hunting. Seriously considering a S&B 3-20x50 ultra short.

Ah, nice woodsy mountain area. Can get a fair amount of snow in the winter you bet. Good hunting there too. Good luck with the WM. That scope is a fine choice too!

I'm leaning towards the H2CMR, from what I've researched it seems to be a decent hunting reticle.
