Nothing new . I worked on utility poles when I was younger for a sub cntactor . Found out my company was getting a higher union rate for me on top of a per man hour fee . I was union and went to a meeting and asked why I wasn't getting union rate .I ws told to sit down or be removed . Old tactic same bullshit .

Anyone ever sit in on a county board meeting (during the height of the recession, mind you) and have them stop what they are doing and vote themselves a pay raise, then resume the meeting like it never happened.......really an uplifting experience, let me tell you.....

Similar thing happened to me at The Union Hall. I asked why they were increasing dues to help for a sawmill that was on strike. Thing was, those union employees rejected what everyone else had agreed to. My comment was why do I have to pay for them. Told to leave.

Not just teachers union . My experience is all Unions are Fucking Greasy .
I worked several big union projects years back, if there was any large big money construction project that happening around the US and I thought it interested me . I would just go there and work, maybe learn something new, till I was bored and move again . I was young, no ties and worked all the hours I wanted, made good money and liked living all over the US .
. Last time I did it was In early 90's in Texas there was a Huge Fed. project and was union on the particular Trade I needed to move onto that project . I was good at what I did, but I never even batted an eye about getting put on the payroll with just showing up 'blind and no contacts' to that union contractor . I knew, Because I worked on a couple of Fed. union projects several years before that in Texas .
All I did was get to town call the Local and ask for an appointment with the Hall BA (business agent) . He suggested we go eat lunch and discuss . So we go to lunch and talk . I told him the what I wanted in employment and I ask ..." how much is the Fee for a out of State card to your Local to work there ". . He say's ..."450-$ and would make the appropriate calls". so I slide 450-$ over to him and pick up the lunch Tab on the table, and next day I'm called-in for a piss test and paperwork and shaking my new bosses hand .

And there is is the problem with giving al the concessions and tax breaks to the huge corporations. The power is in th epeople. with out them the corps would not exist. But they get big and powerful and forget wher the power lies.. Thats when unions come in. Fucked if you do fucked if you dont.

What in the actual fuck do city commissioners and their attitudes have to do with corporations? Many city commissions do not have any corporations in their city to give favors to, yet they still act like fucking royalty. What's the explanation then?
The fuck is theat I was comparing the attitudes of those in power, be they piss ant small city commissioners or heads of large corps. They get to feeling they deserve the position andtherefore are above the serfs, instead of seeing it as an opportunity to serve.
There is a fundamental difference between heads of business and heads of government. Heads of business are under zero obligation to "serve the public". They were hired to make money for the owners of the business.

I don't know what to think. I/m conflicted. As someone said earlier,I don't know her politics BUT, on one hand, teachers have long been the foot soldiers of the liberal party. So its a safe bet she's a lib. But probably the entire board is as well. So its funny that she fights so hard against the right only to be fucked over and shut down by her "peeps." On the other hand, its disgusting that a supervisor of education is taking that kind of pay raise. To be fair, i don't know how much "work" he does to warrant such an increase. But all we ever here about is how schools are underfunded etc....blah blah blah.....for one guy to take a 30 something thousand dollar pay increase to me seems excessive.

thier boss is allready on payroll and waiting to retire from government to start new corporate job.

Big fucking deal. The school board shithead still keeps his raise and I bet public education in that district still sucks ass.
the worst mass bombing by a citizen in the US was over a school board action I believe, these school people are violet, so are the dems and republicans, I like watching them get unhinged and then call in their paid muscle to deal with their family issues. My oldest brother was at the protest held today, he said that half of Iberia parish showed up and are mad as hell. Say what you want about Cajuns but they will vote out everyone involved in this, Cajuns have a looong memory for getting screwed.
