Suppressors Crux Archangel or Elite Iron Sierra

Looking for People who have shot either one, or better yet both, on a 338 Lapua or 338 Norma Mag. What were your impressions of them? The Crux has a taper type mount, the Elite Iron is direct thread. I know "go TBAC" is going to pop up soon, but I'm only interested in info on these specific two. Thanks

Crux: super light, ok suppression, rated for really short barrels
Elite Iron: heavy, good suppression, not rated for short barrel mags
tbac: light, best suppression, most expensive

My first three cans were tbac, 223, 30, and 338. They are still what I judge all others by.

I have an direct thread .30 cal Archangel from the group buy several years back, sounds great and very little POI shift. I would rate it a top tier can. No experience with the EI.

I know you mentioned staying with those 2 brands but Euro optic has some great deals on SAS cans. I have a Reaper and have been impressed with it also.

That's a good, straight up and honest answer from another good, straight up and honest man.

Dale is a great guy, and he has good prices on solid cans. I used him for a .50 can and a .338 can a while back. .50 is a tank. The .338 has a brake that fits over the barrel, taking about 2" off the overall length; he uses mounts that are similar to TBAC in that they are thread over brakes. If you go direct thread, then call Dale and talk to him about indexing it so it'll only have a vertical POI shift; he can also index and cut a brake to fit without shims. I still don't have the rifle, and may not for a while now so I can't tell you how well that one works, but it looks like it should work just fine. He makes good, solid, basic cans. No gimmicks, all 316SS, and this keeps costs down. He's a metallurgist by trade FWIW, and he doesn't build junk. Lots of alphabet soup agencies use his cans too.

I'd consider the TBAC too unless there's some reason you just don't want it. For cost, you can't go wrong with Elite. For weight, you can't beat TBAC. They'll both do well suppressing the rifle, they're actually quite similar --both are longer tubes that use known baffle stacks (not sure if the baffles are the same style or not) and both attach solid to the rifle, mount or direct.

As far as I'm concerned, those are the only two worth considering for a .338 can. They are both very honest companies too that stand behind their work.

I have 2 Crux Suppressors

I sent the Archangel in to be converted to their Precision Mounting System
The Archangel has performed like it was designed too. I’ve only ran it on a .308 and just like all cans on a .308 (16”) it sounds like a .22 or at least mine does.
Curtis actually called me to inform me about my conversion which was very kind of him and very unexpected. I found out that his degree is in fluid dynamics and he applies that to his designs.
As for the Axe9 I run it on my cz75 and a 5” AR9
I use their .223 1/2x28 brake on the AR9 and love their mounting system.
I do use their flash hider mounts on my 14.5” & 16” AR’s anything shorter I use their brakes.
When my Archangel comes back I’ll run it on my 5.56 AR’s as well.
I’m building a 300wm and will run it on that too.
This is just my experience with Crux and it’s been A+ and I plan on picking up 2 more Saxon 5.56’s for my AR’s

OP, sorry to derail your thread but Strykervet mentioned the above highlighted comment and it piqued my interest. Strykervet or anyone else can you elaborate on the above statement about indexing the silencer so that there is only a vertical POI shift. Would this pertain to K-style baffles mainly??? Very interested as this might be a solution to a minor issue im having that i never gave any thought.

Op, just to contribute to your question ive never touched a Crux but i did do a demo for some abc agencies and one had a Desert Tech 308 with an Elite Iron can that we used. It felt very well built, sounded great, and was accurate but that is about all the further my experience with either of the 2 mfg's you are asking about.

DO NOT BUY A CRUX BRAND ANYTHING! I did and I wish I didn't. The customer service, lack of mounts, and support are absolutely the worst I have ever experienced. The cans are alright but if you ever have an issue you will regret purchasing their products. Try calling them and leave a message, see how long it takes(if ever) to call you back.

I have 4 direct thread Crux Archangel .30 suppressors and they are very quiet with repeatable zero's. No experience with EI. My experience with Crux customer service is not positive and for that reason I would recommend that you consider carefully.
