I have a buddy who wants to trade me this chassis - they seem to think it'll be possible to machine it out to fit a 700 after bedding. Is there anyway that could be possible? I'm confused by the description saying "short action" - I thought the MSR was only available in one config which would be long action. It's about an hour away, so I don't want to waste the drive if it's impossible.

I would go by what's on the product description:
WILL NOT FIT REMINGTON 700 RIFLES
    And buy something else

Why would you want to go through a giant pain in the ass expensive lesson?

To have a RACS for little to no money

When the company says no, your reason is null and void.

You will spend $$$ and likely have nothing to show for it

The company has conflicting info. And I wouldnt be spending money - hence the question

I would have him lay a rem700 action in it and see how everything lines up.
You could try calling Marty at Badger and see if he has laid hands on this version, he would probably know

The RACS chassis comes in SA and LA. The MSR is their multi-cal system which goes at a cheap price of $10.5k or $21k for the kit. Why bed the chassis? shouldn't you be able to drop in your 700 BA in there??

The description says it will not fit a 700 - it looks like the recoil lug is different (like a Tikka setup), which if the action screws and mag line up, is an easy fix, but if there's a lot more to it, it won't. I asked for more pics and measurements so we'll see

Do yourself a favor and call Jason Baney @ EuroOptic. He'll square you away as they have all Remington Defense products. And I highly doubt a Tikka will fit into the RACS.....

From someone that owns a RACS, yes they are cool, no they are not worth the money. I would buy a Cadex and not look back. I have both and the only real difference is fit and finish. The RACS is damn sexy but not worth double the cash.
