I would add that I’m in favor of doing something for people brought here as SMALL children. My gut tells me that the Dems have a broad definition for “Dreamer”. Too broad.
Further, I say no deal until we lock down border and get e-verify. Any dreamer deal much have extreme concessions towards stopping the future influx illegals. Limiting US employers from hiring illegals would be a solid deterrent. I would favor expanding legal migrant visas so farms etc. can get the help they need legally.

I am on a first name basis with most of the Colorado Legislature and have been since 2013. Mostly for fighting for our 2A rights. Two years ago I lobbied A Democrat Colorado Senator regarding radon (Colorado is a hot zone). A study was commissioned on my behalf and a law was passed soon after . It was a small regulation but it was a start, and I started it.
After the gun law fight of 2013 I supported the recalls and very vocally voted all Republican in the next election. Adams county where I lived was an upset and I was quoted in the local news several times as a Democrat that turned.....

Well I did not say there are not issues. You bring up a good point. So yes some sort of documentation that the child has been here for a long time. If I had my way your child would not get cizenship just because you managed to drag your ass across our border to poop it out. I think that is a much bigger issue.....

Sadly they would simply escort everyone out. They had State police there just for that reason. Honestly there is a decorum in committee for a reason. If it were a free for all people would not be heard. Time is also a factor.
An anecdote: Several of the days in committees, there was constant honking of car horns outside from 2A protesters . At one point a lady Democrat on committee made a snide comment about it, calling it “rude”.
Later in the evening the honking had quieted down to one here or there. An Asian male immigrant spoke about his flight from the blood letting of his home country and how important our 2A is. In a thick accent he then chastised the lady senator for her earlier comments on the honking saying “ I thought that was free speech, I thought that was free speech”!
Afterwards you could hear a pin drop. Everyone was moved. Then as if on cue a lone horn beeped in the night. Silence of disbelief, then the whole chamber erupted in laughter. After his testimony the lady Senator apologized for her earlier statements and said he was right, it was indeed free speech.....

- Deport them, wholesale and not give a fuck about whining and crying from people who they are actually stealing from. I'd actually be willing to offer a finders fee per illegal; make them feel hunted.
- Make it an exponentially growing fine for companies that are caught employing illegals. After a certain point, just like SOX, make the executive staff personally responsible.
- No medical care, no drivers license, no benefits, nothing. The amount of money that would save in a few years would pay for multiple walls.
- Anyone you catch, you biometrically catalogue. You then tell them that if they ever try again, they have a lifetime ban on applying for legal immigration for them or their children.
- Build tent city work camps on/near the border for the idiots who were caught, and then caught again. They will now be helping us build the wall for as long as we see fit.

Exactly. Leftists and so call Progressives have taken over the Democrat party. Much like the State of California, I don't think leaving is the answer. Thats not how we win on the battlefield. If we were smart, gun owners would be pouring into California and voting.
I have always believed that hitching a Bill of Rights to one party was a mistake. I consider myself not just a defender of 2A but of all of the Bill of Rights. To me that is not a partisan issue and it is a tactical error to fight it that way. A serious tactical error.
As for "Dreamers" I'm not trying to change anyone's mind here. Illegal immigration a complex issue and I am fucking sick of it. WE NEED immigration reform. That said, I would be lying if I said I didn't have a soft-spot for kids that have been here since childhood through no fault of there own.
From purely a pragmatic, political and tactical perspective, DACA has us at the table with a lot of damn cards in our favor. I also would be lying if I said I was optimistic about the 2018 mid-terms or Trumps 2020 reelection. If Dems seize power its game over.
So you can argue those previously metioned points BUT if for the sake of understanind my perspective you accept them for the moment. You can see how, right now we have some negotiating power. There is no way we are deporting ALL illegals. There are just too many. The fallout would be too great, as would the sacrfice of personal liberties not unlike the war on drugs etc.

Well 5 years after it was passed there is no repeal in sight and given the blue turn Colorado is taking, there never will be. Meanwhile 30 rnds would have covered 99% of the MAGS out there and basically made the remaining law a skeleton MUCH easier to repeal.
