1 WEEK LEFT: This Target Haunts Me Contest
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Planning on a 28 Nosler build for long range hunting, still shooting. Ideally would like to reach 2000 yds. I will use a Kahles 624i or USO B25. Trying to decide on the base cant/height 20-30-40 MOA? Would most likely use a 0 MOA Spuhr mount. thx
I'd go 30 moa if you're really wanting to shoot that far. 195 berger at 3050 will be around 21.1 mils at 2k.
I hope you don't intend to shoot animals at that range, you only have about 550 ft lbs of energy at that distance and that's assuming you can place a good shot on the animal.
I won't be taking any shots to an animal at 2000 yds, lol. I'm not crazy. Realistically 700ish yds is as far as I would attempt and only if conditions are right. Steel is another story.

What action are you going to use? Gonna try for a switch barrel? I'm in the process of building a 28 as well. Bighorn TL3 is ordered and I have a proof 7mm blank ready to be spun up. Gonna have the 28 for hunting, then get a 6.5 swede, or something simler, barrel to practice with. Something much cheaper to shoot and easier on the barrel.
Go 30 moa. This will keep your scope reasonably operating closer to optical center at the distances you will be shooting & still allow for a very clear 100 yd zero. 40moa would work as well but unnecessary.
