I’m putting together a short compact Rem 700 SA. What is the best lightweight, non bulky folding chassis? I don’t need a lot of frills just a solid stock that folds. I would prefer something with a pistol grip and not a manner style folder.
I think the MPA Hybrid has a longer foreend and weighs the same. I am not sure of the folder weight maybe a few oz more than the feathery 2.9 pounds for the complete chassis and buttstock.
Is the burnt bronze, gold looking or is it more of a metallic Brown? I'm leaning towards that color but don't want the Goldengun from the N64 Bond games. Pictures online are hard to decipher.
It's not gold to my eye but my wife tells me I'm color-dumb. It looks bronze to me, though.
The only way to accurately describe a color to another person is to have a reference paint chips or a colorwheel or the like.
That's not easy to do without a lot of work.
How do you think they'll react at my local Home Depot if I walk in with my rifle to compare it to their paint color cards?
If I remove the barreled action the chassis should be "HD friendly".
Actually I was there today but I didn't look at swatches.
I did replace some of my LED bulbs with new generation daylight (5k) bulbs.
Under that light my wife says it's bronze. Under incandescent light it looks tan.
I don't think I'll be dubbed "The Man With The Golden Gun" (Scaramanga for you Bond-files) at matches this year.
