Does anyone have any experience with the LAR8 / 6.5 Creedmoor model? I called RRA today and they informed me that they are using the same BCG as the 308. Does anyone think that will be a problem? I can't imagine they would put out something that wasn't 100% GTG. Any thoughts?

The same length gas system (RIfle length) on a 308 vs a 6.5 Creed means you're likely going to see about 100fps off an equal length bolt gun barrel. When I made some LAR8 replacement barrels a couple years back I pushed the gas system to a Rifle+2" and about 80% of that speed loss (80fps of the appx 100) came back and the customer could run H4350 much more readily without twitchy gas block tuning and the recoil impulse smoothed out significantly and the rifle ran more reliably.

Updating thread - has anyone purchased one of the new LAR 8M (6.5 Creedmoor) rifles / uppers? Looking for some feedback. I have a LAR 8 (308) that I am quite pleased with. Thinking of adding the 6.5 upper. I haven't been able to find much feedback on their new offering.

Thanks

I have one on order right now with the 24” barrel that is SUPPOSED to be here in 2-4 weeks. I’ll post again once it arrives and I get it out to the range.

Awesome. Not much info on them at all. I assume it shoots as well as my LAR 8.

Do you have the varmint a4 or the Predator hp? My vamint a4 with the 26” barrel was a tack driver. The predator hp was a little harder for me to keep tighter groups. It was still a shooter though. I’ve only found two articles on the 6.5 predator hp, both reported great reviews on the accuracy.
